10、 published by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). It is identical with ISO 9456:1991 Optics and optical instruments Ophthalmic optics Marking of spectacle frames, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It replaces 8.1 and 8.2 of BS 6625:1985 (renumbered

11、as BS 6625-1:1985 by AMD 7052). By BS 6625-1 and this British Standard, the marking of spectacle frames is now limited to the boxed lens system (see BS 3521-2), i.e. marking by the use of the alternative, outmoded datum system has been deleted. This British Standard specifies the markings to be appl

12、ied to spectacle frames but not the method of application. Annex A, which is informative, recommends certain details that should be included in any additional documentation. NOTEAlthough ISO 7998 is listed in clause 2, no reference is made to that standard elsewhere in the text. A British Standard d

13、oes not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. 23、n Standard by the Technical Committee CEN/TC 170, Ophthalmic optics, the secretariat of which is held by DIN. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 1996, and conflicting nationa

24、l standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by December 1996. According to CEN/CENELEC Internal regulations, the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway,

Recommendations are given for the provision of further information in documentation accompanying the frames or available separately. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions wh

33、 or should be available separately: a) Range available (size/colours). b) Components available separately. c) Lens area, in square millimetres. d) Mass of frame for an identified frame size. e) Bridge height (dimension f shown in ISO 8624, Figure 1). f) Minimum uncut diameter of lens.
