9、 Standards: BS HR.51, Billets, bars, forgings and parts. 1 Inspection and testing procedure This British Standard shall be used in conjunction with sections 1 and 9 of the latest issue of BS HR 100. 2 Manufacture Unless otherwise agreed between the manufacturer and the purchaser in accordance with B

10、S HR 100 the material shall be manufactured by an electric process followed by consumable electrode vacuum arc remelting. 3 Chemical composition The alloy shall contain: 4 Cold working All material shall be softened in accordance with 7.1 and subsequently reduced 15 % to 25 % in cross-sectional area

11、 during final drawing or rolling at a temperature of not more than 870 C. 5 Condition Unless otherwise agreed, the material shall be supplied in the appropriate condition stated below. The condition or the use for which the material is intended shall be stated on the order. 6 Freedom from surface co

12、ntamination Material shall be inspected for freedom from surface contamination in accordance with the requirements of BS HR 100. 7 Heat treatment 7.1 Softening treatment. The material shall be heated uniformly at a temperature of 900 10 C for not less than 1 h followed by cooling in air, oil or wate

13、r. 7.2 Solution treatment. The material and test samples, as appropriate, shall be heated uniformly at a temperature of 980 10 C for not less than 1 h followed by cooling in air, oil or water. 7.3 Precipitation treatment. The material and test samples, as appropriate, shall be heated uniformly at a

17、8.1 Mechanical tests. The mechanical properties obtained from test pieces selected, prepared and tested in accordance with the relevant requirements of BS HR 100 shall be as follows: 8.1.1 Stress rupture test (combined notched and unnotched test piece). 8.1.2 Tensile test at room temperature NOTE1 N

Information on SI units is given in BS 3763, “The International System of units (SI)”; see also BS 350, “Conversion factors and tables”. 8.2 Hardness test 1) The hardness of material heat treated in accordance with 7.2 shall be not more than 200HB. 2)

19、 The hardness of material and test samples heat treated in accordance with 7.2 and 7.3 shall be: 248 min./341 max. HB or 260 min./360 max. HV 9 Grain size 9.1 Sample preparation 9.1.1 Material supplied in the cold worked condition. Prior to examination each sample selected for grain size determinati

20、on shall be solution treated and precipitation treated in accordance with 7.2 and 7.3. 9.1.2 Material supplied in the solution treated condition. Prior to examination each sample selected for grain size determination shall be precipitation treated in accordance with 7.3. 9.1.3 Material supplied in t
