12、(c) BSI v Foreword ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for
13、 which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. 26、rmes quivalents 1 Scope 1 Domaine dapplication This International Standard establishes a list of equivalent terms, in English, French and German, related to the main mechanical chains, classified in accordance with their design and/or use, as well as their principal components, fittings and sprocket
27、s. It does not define terms. It is applicable to the patterns of chains and components defined in the ISO standards referenced, as well as to many patterns of non- standardized chain that are used in special applications. As far as possible, the chains, sprockets and accessories are illustrated by a
28、n example. NOTE In addition to terms used in English and French, two of the three official ISO languages, this International Standard gives the equivalent terms in German; these are published under the responsibility of the member body for Germany (DIN). However, only the terms given in the official
29、 languages can be considered as ISO terms.
