However, to provide

、a consistent reference for manufacturing conformity, the following colors are recommended from the Pantone Color Formula Guide. In this guide, all color numbers are followed by a “C” denoting swatches for coated printing stock. The color examples shown in Table 1 may vary in appearance depending upo

、n CRT calibration, printer, paper quality, etc. For exact color references, users should consult a recently published Pantone color guide. The color blue shall be used for connectors designed for use with Series 6 drop cable, formerly known as RG-6 type cable, such as for connection to coax cable with #18 AWG diameter center conduc

、tor. Connectors with DC voltages should not be color coded white or black. 5 Implementation Companies should use black for Antenna/Cable Inputs wherever unambiguous distinction between input and output connections is needed. Cable manufacturers should use the color coding proposed for all cables des

、igned, manufactured and marketed for the connections identified in CEA-897. Color coding need not be applied to the shield or insulation over the length of cable. The native color of the cable may be visible throughout its length, with indication of connection type at the ends only. If this is done,

、 color coding should be used to identify connector ends, for example, by use of appropriately colored heat shrink tubing, a color ring or a sticker, or other equivalent means. . Electronic component manufacturers should incorporate a color-coding marker or indicator, consistent with CEA-897, such as

、 stick-on color labels, screened color indicators or colored plastic inserts for the input/output jacks themselves. Additionally, concise labeling at the appropriate input and output terminals or connection points on component back panels is recommended. Cable accessory manufacturers of devices such

、 as barrels, wall-plates, switches, and splitters are encouraged to incorporate a color-coding marker or indicator, consistent with CEA-897, such as stick-on color labels, screened color indicators or colored plastic inserts for the input/output jacks themselves. In the case of simple 1:2 splitter/c

、ombiners that may be connected in either configuration, it is suggested that all terminals be coded white or unmarked. User manuals should indicate the use of color-coding and reinforce the scheme. See Annex A (informative) for color coding examples in common configurations. 2 Copyright Consumer Ele

、 System Annex A provides examples of color coding that should be used in common situations involving F- connectors. NOTEAdditional A/V and/or audio connectors may be included in these configurations. See EIA/CEA-863. A.1 DTV with Terrestrial TV Input Example This example demonstrates color coding fo

Optionally, connector 1 may be color coded Black. A.2 VCR/DVD Example This example demonstrates color coding for a typical VCR

、or DVD recorder/player. See Figure 2. The two connectors are both intended to carry DTV signals. VCR/DVD 12 Figure 2 VCR/DVD Example As shown, connectors 1 and 2 are color coded White. Optionally, connector 1 (input) may be color coded Black. A.3 Cable Set-Top Box Example This example demonstrates c
