4、utlines for Solid State and Related Products” 4 Requirements 4.1 Carrier tapes, cover tapes, reels, and taped components must meet the requirements defined in the Figures and Tables presented herein. 4.2 The package design may utilize a carrier tape and cover tape which mechanically interlock across

5、 the carrier tape width at predetermined locations between each component row to secure, orient and accurately position components on the carrier tape. For flat carrier tape, this design may also include an antistatic foam interleave tape. Copyright Electronic Components, Assemblies & Materials Asso

7、) Reference to this Standard by Title and Number. (b) Taping quality requirements including maximum number of missing components. (c) Container and reel marking requirements (including bar code labeling if required), and reel diameter (refer to 4.12 and Figure 4). (d) Shipping conditions, storage co

8、nditions and storage time. (e) Weight of the reel containing components. NOTE: A heavy reel may not work on all feeders. Also, a reel containing components attached to a feeder may exceed regulatory or corporate weight limits for lifting by workers. 4.4 Components are to be prevented from falling ou

9、t of the cavity of the carrier tape, and shall remain in position for automatic handling after removal of the cover tape (see Note 1, Table 1). 4.5 The packaging method shall not obstruct any part of the sprocket holes. 4.6 The carrier tape and/or the packaging method in adjacent layers shall not st

10、ick together when unwinding from the carrier reel. 4.7 The packaging, materials and processes shall not adversely affect the mechanical and electrical characteristics or marking of the components. For intermediate and final packaging, refer to EIA-383 “Preparation for the Delivery of Electrical and

11、Electronic Components,” EIA- 541 “Packaging Material Standards for ESD Sensitive Items,” and EIA-583 “Packaging Material Standards for Moisture Sensitive Items,” and EIA-624 “Product Package Bar Code Label Standard for Non-Retail Applications.“ 4.8 The packaging method shall be suitable to withstand

12、 storage of the packaged components without danger of migration of contaminants onto the terminations, or the emission of vapors which would make soldering difficult or deteriorate the component properties or terminations by chemical action. In addition, the packaging method shall not become detache

13、d, such that the components do not remain in position after storage (see Subclause 4.3(d). 4.9 Components may be removed from the packaging (virtual) boundary by incising the cavity at or below the depth midpoint (K0/2) for embossed tape (Figure 1) or by incising the carrier tape along the packaging

14、 (virtual) boundary for flat tapes (Figure 2). In no case shall the removal affect the package functionality. 15、:08 MSTNo reproduction or networking permitted without license from IHS -,-,- EIA-704-A Page 3 4.10 There shall not be two (2) or more consecutive components missing from any single packaging boundary with multiple components or consecutive packaging boundaries with single components. 4.11 Component

16、s with bottom-only terminations shall be packaged with the terminations facing away from the component access side (see Figures 1 & 2). Refer to EIA-481-C for component orientation rules. 4.12 The cover tape may be separated from the carrier tape by an unstitching device in the feeder. The force req

17、uired to remove the cover tape shall be 22.1 N to 88.3 N, depending upon the carrier tape width. The direction of the force shall be at an angle of 90 degrees to 180 degrees with the top surface of the carrier tape. The unstitching device may travel though the punched holes in the mechanical interlo

18、ck area (see Figures 1 & 2), perpendicular to the top surface of the carrier tape, and shall not deform the carrier tape. The act of separating the cover tape from the carrier tape shall not affect the component or its position on the carrier tape. 4.13 Reels as defined by Figure 3 shall be permanen

19、tly marked with visible recycling symbology. Bar code labeling, if required, shall be on the side of the reel opposite the round sprocket holes (refer to 4.3(c) and Figure 4). (c) The tape surface with the virtual boundary may contain any number of surface features. These surface features may include pre

28、punched holes, pressed tabs, embossments, pocket cavities or other mechanical features to secure the component. These surface features will in no way restrict the functions of the feeder. (d) The component(s) located within the virtual boundary can be removed from the carrier tape in a vertical dire

29、ction without interference from any other components. Extraction force required to remove components from the carrier tape shall not exceed 3.3 N maximum calibrated gauge reading. (e) Kn defines the maximum distance from the top surface of the carrier tape to the lowest feature below the carrier tap

30、e surface. (f) K1 defines the maximum distance from the top surface of the carrier tape to the highest feature. 2 Tape with or without components shall pass around R without damage. Larger values of P1 will require larger radius R. 3 B1 dimension is a maximum reference dimension for tape feeder clea

Reel diameters ranging from 254 mm to 292 mm also exist.
