This specification details the requirements of water dilutable drawing compounds that must be compatible with current production processes and paint systems. These compounds provide additional lubricity to a

The material must protect the sheet metal from staining or corrosion for 24 h when stored in a sta

6、cked condition. 3.1.2 The concentration of the material for each test require- ment will be set prior to the material evaluation. 3.1.3 The concentration range for production use wilI be set at the time of approval. 3.5 EASY DILUTION AND NORMAL AGITATION. This material must not require special mixin

7、g equipment and no more than moderate agitation must be required to achieve a uni- form mixture. 3.2 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS. 3.2.1 Corrosion Resistance (GM9617P). Aluminum substrates coated with the material over a GM approved mill oil (998 1833) must not exhibit rust or staining under normal ship

8、ping, han- dling or storage conditions which would impair processing the sheet. 3.6 DIE OR ROLL COATER BUILD UP. The material must not require excessive effort to remove from dies or roll coaters after a weekend. 3.7 STORAGE STABILITY. The material must meet all of the requirements of the specificat

9、ion after being stored under nor- mal conditions for a period of 90 days. This period commences upon receipt of the material 3.2.1.1 The material tested per GM9617P must not exhibit 3.8 DRAWABILITY. The material must perform comparable to or better than the currently approved ref- erence (control) 9981833. 3.4.3.4 Plant Requirements. After passing the requirements above of tbis specification this material(s) must perform satis-

13、 factorily in the intended application as demonstmted by a plant tryout. 3.3.3 Compatibility with Phosphate System (GM9611P). Pan- els prepare for this specification shal.l be treated in a GM ap proved spray/dip zinc phosphate process. The compound treated panels shall exhibit a uniform, pattern fre

14、e. phosphate coating comparable to the control panels (cold rolled steel) which have not been processed through any preclean system. The phos- phate coating should be of acceptable coating weight and crys- tal size. In addition, photomicrographs shall be taken of both 3.5 PROCESS REQUIREMENTS. 3.5.1

15、 Functional Requirements. The material must perform satisfactorily in the specified production application. Failure to do so shall constitute reason for rejection regardless of com- pliance with the other requirements of this specification. 3.5.2 Quality Control Requirements. In addition to meeting

18、. Refer- ence original infrared spectra and gas chromatography. 4 SOURCE SHIPMENT RESPONSIBILITY. It will be the responsibility of the supplier to insure that the material is not exposed to temperatures during shipment which would cause the material to fail to meet any of the requirements of this sp

19、ecification. 5 WASTE TREATMENT. The material must be compatible with existing waste treatment processes so that total removal can be achieved. The supplier of the product will be responsible to make it known to the applicator of this product. 6 INITIAL SOURCE APPROVAL. No shipment shall be made by a

20、ny supplier until representative initial production samples have been approved by engineering as meeting the requirements of this specification. 6.1 Completed copies of the GM Material Safety Data Sheet and Critical Material Register (available from the engineering department or laboratory), or equi

21、valent, must be submitted with any new submissions or where a composition changes has occurred. 7 INSPECTION AND REJECTION. AU shipments of material or parts under contract or purchase order manufactured to this specification shall be equivalent in every respect to the initial samples approved by en

22、gineering. There shall be no changes in either formulation or manufacturing processes permitted without prior notification and approval by engineering. Lack of notification by the supplier constitutes grounds for rejection of any shipment. While samples may be taken from incoming shipments and check

23、ed for conformance to this specification, the supplier shall accept the responsibility for incoming shipments meeting this specification without dependence upon purchaser s inspection. 8 APPROVED SOURCES. Engineering qualification of an approved source is required for this specification. Only source

24、s listed in the GM Corporate Materials File under this specification number have been qualified by engineering as meeting the requirements of this specification. Sources are available through the on-line MATSPC System. 9 GENERAL INFORMATION. This specification was originated by Fisher Body in April
