1、 ENGINEERING STANDARDS Material Specification Plastics GM1002M Standard Requirements - Plastics 1 Scope This standard provides the additional information for specifications to satisfy GM requirements for plastic materials and parts. 1.1 Identification. The molding compound shall be identified by the
2、 specification code, the manufacturers identification code and lot num- ber, along with any additional vehicle group and component division requirements. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standards/Specifications. ISO 11014
3、ISO 11469 2.2 GM Standards/Specifications. GMW3001 GMW3059 3 Requirements 3.1 Paintability. Approved paint systems that can be used on this material are listed in the GM Approved Paint On Parts Systems (GM APOPS) data base. All combinations of sub- strate/paint/source must be listed in MATSPC under
4、the APOPS database. All bakes must comply with the NA Paint ap- proved bake charts for each specific product. 3.2 Test Procedures. Tests shall be conducted using the latest issue of the test methods indi- cated. Suitable precautions should be taken to ensure that applicable safe limits are not ex- c
5、eeded when conducting test procedures, proc- esses, and/or handling the materials required by this specification. 3.3 Marking of Parts. Legible plastic compound identification symbol per ISO 11469 must ap- pear on surface, raised or depressed 0.3-0.4 mm and must not affect appearance, function or as
6、sembly. Omission requires GM approval. 3.4 Regrind. If regrind is used in production, a part made from the maximum amount of regrind must be tested and certified to print require- ments. 4 Manufacturing Process Not applicable. 5 Rules and Regulations 5.1 All materials supplied to this specification
7、must comply with the requirements of GMW3001, Rules and Regulations for Mate- rial Specifications. 5.2 All materials supplied to this specification must comply with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Sub- stances for Parts. 5.3 Material Safety Data Sheets. A completed copy of IS0
8、 11014 Safety Data Sheet meeting GM information requirements must be submitted with any new submission or when composition changes or changes in Safety Data Sheets has occurred. 5.3.1 The material(s) must receive approval from all Medical, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene De- partments affected before
9、 the material(s) can he used in production. 5.4 Compound Certification. Material suppliers must certify molding compound properties to the specific GM Test Sampling Plan approved for their materials. 5.4.1 All materials and products must conform to the latest (published) revision of the specifica- t
10、ion. 5.5 Inspection And Rejection. All shipments of material or parts under contract or purchase or- der manufactured to this specification shall be equivalent in every respect to the initial samples approved by engineering. There shall be no changes in raw material composition or source, formulatio
11、n, construction, manufacturing or test methods, or location of manufacture without prior notification and approval by the appropriate GM Material Specialist Team, GM part release engineer, and GM purchasing agent or buyer. Lack of notification by the supplier constitutes grounds for rejection of any
12、 shipment and/or forfeiture of approval. 15、rial specification shall be referenced in other documents, drawings, VTS, CTS, etc. as follows: Must meet GM1002M 8 Release and Revisions 8.1 Release.
