1、 ENGINEERING STANDARDS Material Specification Plastics GMP.PC.024 Polycarbonate High Heat, Copolymer, ISO Test Methods 1 Scope This specification covers the properties of a high heat, injection-molding grade of a polycarbonate copolymer. 1.1 Symbol. The material abbreviation according to ISO 11469 i

2、s PC-HT. 1.2 Typical Application. Typical applications include the following: Exterior Lighting Housings Bezels Reflectors Lenses 1.3 Paintability. Approved paint/coating systems that can be used on this material are listed in the GM Approved Paint on Parts Systems (GM APOPS) database. 2 References

4、3059 3 Requirements Important physical, mechanical and thermal properties that characterize the material are summarized in charts. The color shall be specified on drawings, in material specifications and otherwise. 3.1 Requirements on Delivery. Material supplier must certify molding compound propert

5、ies to the specific GM Test sampling Plan approved for their material. 3.2 Requirements on Test Specimens. Unless otherwise specified, injection molding of test specimens shall be accomplished per ISO 294 with the conditions for injection molding from ISO 7391-2. Also, unless otherwise specified, te

6、st methods and specimen dimensions are to be in accordance with ISO 10350-1. Test shall be conducted 40 hours minimum after molding and immediately following a conditioning period of 24 h minimum per GMW3221 Code A, unless otherwise specified. All tests shall be performed on unannealed specimens. In

7、 addition, tests specified at temperatures below or above 22 3 C shall be conducted at the specified temperature using specimens conditioned at the specified temperature for 4 h minimum. The minimum values specified in the property tables must be met by test specimens in natural, black, or in a stan

8、dard sampled color if natural or black are not available. For colored grades where other pigment and additive systems (e.g. stabilizer) are used, the impact values shall not decrease more than 10% from the specified minimum value. 3.1.1 Chemical Requirements. All parts manufactured from molding comp

9、ounds shall be resistant to the media they contact, such as aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, fuels, lubricants, oils, greases and alcohols, at their places of use. 18、ply with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for Parts. 6 Approved Sources Engineering qualification of an approved source is required for this specification. Only sources listed in the GM Materials File (i.e., MATSPC) under this specification number have been qualified

19、 by engineering as meeting the requirements of this specification. 7 Coding System This material specification shall be referenced in other documents, drawings, VTS, CTS, etc. as follows: GMP.PC.024 TYPE TBD, POLYCARBONATE- HIGH HEAT, COPOLYMER, ISO TEST METHODS. Where: TBD equals a Roman numeral fr

20、om Table 2. For lens grades: GMP.PC.024 TYPE TBD-L, POLYCARBONATE-HIGH HEAT, COPOLYMER, ISO TEST METHODS, EXTERIOR LENS GRADE. Where: TBD equals a Roman numeral from Table 2.
