1、I GENERAL MOTORS ENGINEERING STANDARDS I Materials and Processes - Paint I UV STABILIZER COATINGS FOR LIGHTING APPLICATIONS 9984266 1 SCOPE. This specification covers the requirements for UV stabilizer coatings to be used for first surface applications on UV and heat sensitive plastics. 1.1 UV stabi

2、lizer coatings are part of a total painted product system and must meet the requirements set forth in this speci- fication and those shown on engineering drawings. This specification shall be used in conjunction with the Approved Paint on Plastics Systems (APOPS), a section of Materials Specificatio

The surface must be clean and free of surface defects which would affect photometric performance or appearance. 3.3 CURE. Surfa

5、ce of part must be within the range of time and temperature specified by the supplier for cure and must be checked per GM9509P or as specified by supplier. Time in oven and ambient temperature must be regulated to meet this requirement without exceeding over/under bake specifications. 3.4 APPEARANCE

6、. Must meet the requirement of GM4348M with the exception of gloss and DGI which shall be specified on the part drawing. 3.5 PERFORMANCE. Finished lens must meet the require- ments of GM446SP with no evidence of blistering or other appearance change at the end of 96 h followed by GM9071P with a mini

7、mum of 99% retention. Additionally, the finished lens must meet the requirements of GM9SOSP (cycle A) and 24 h of humidity (GM446SP) followed by GM9071P with a minimum of 99% retention. 3.6 APPROVAL. When testing is satisfactorily completed per the above requirements, approval to this specification

8、will be given. The UV stabilizer coatings per this specification must be evaluated and approved for each specific lamp design. 3.7 APOPS. For specific system approval refer to the Qualification Procedure Section in the APOPS. 4 SOURCE SHIPMENT RESPONSIBILITY. It will be the responsibility of the sup

While samples may be taken from incoming shipments and checked for conformance to this specification, the supplier shall accept the responsibility for incoming shipments meeting this specific

This document shall be prepared and provide data in accord- ance with the requirements detailed in GM4389M.

14、7 APPROVED SOURCES. Engineering qualification of an approved source is required for this specification. Only sources listed in the GM Materials File under this specification number have been qualified by engineering as meeting the requirements of this specification. Sources are available through the
