This specification covers a solvent-based adhesion promoter suitable for enhancing and maintaining bond strength of doubl
2、e-backed tape on plasticized vinyl. This material functions as a adhesion promoter and as a plasticizer migration barrier. This material is available with a solvent con- tent consisting of either toluene or toluene and MBK. 2 REFERENCED STANDARDS. GMlOOOM GM9763P GM9010P GM9774P GM9672P ASTM D1310 3
3、 REQUIREMENTS. ASTM D2369 ASTM D4339 ASTM E502 3.1 RESTRICTBD AND REPORTABLE CHEMICALS (GMlOOOM). All materials supplied to this specification must comply with the requirements listed in GMlOOOM, Restricted and Reportable Chemicals.” 3.2 TOXICITY. The toxicity shall be disclosed in kind and magnitud
4、e, as required by the GM Material Safety Data Sheet In addition, the material must have full approval of the appro- priate medical department prior to production use. 3.3 STABILITY (GM9763P). Material conditioned using potential storage conditions must be capable of passing all the requirements of t
5、his specification. 3.3.1 Elevated Temperature Stability. As shipped, the adhe- sive must be capable of withstanding a temperature of 55C for 72 h, without separation or caking. 3.3.2 Low Temperature Stability. As shipped, the adhesive must be capable of withstanding 3 cycles of the applicable cycle
6、schedule outlined in A2 of GM9763P 3.3.3 Storage Stability. The shelf life of the adhesive in closed containers shall be 180 days at a temperature not to exceed 35C. Shelf life of the material commences upon the receipt of the material from the manufacturer. 3.4 MATERIAL PROPERTIES - UNCURED. See Ta

Color Odor Properties Homogeneity TABLE 1 - UNCURED MATERIAL Results Clear The material shall not have a noxious odor in either cured or uncured condition Material must be homogeous and free of lumps or air bubbles MBK or Toluene Toluene 20+3% Solvent Content -7C MBK and quantity and mass of
8、material. 8 INSPECTION AND REJECTION. All shipments of material or parts under contract or purchase order manufac- tured to this specification shah be equivalent in every respect to the initial samples approved by the purchaser. There shall be no changes in either formulation or manufacturing proces
9、ses permitted without prior notification and approval by the pur- chaser. Lack of notification by the supplier constitutes grounds for rejection of any shipment. While samples may be taken from incoming shipments and checked for conformance to this specification, the supplier shall accept the respon
10、sibility for incoming shipments meeting this specification without depen- dence upon purchasers inspection. 9 APPROVED SOURCES. Engineering qualification of an approved source is required for this specification. Only sources listed in the GM Corporate Materials File under this specification number h
11、ave been qualified by the control divi- sion as meeting the requirements of this specification. Sources are available through the on-line MATSPC System. 10 GENERAL INFORMATION.
