2、 transformed into International Standards. As part of this process, Technical Committee ISO/TC 139 has reviewed IS0 Recommendation R 1098 and found it technically suitable for transformation. International Standard IS0 1098 therefore replaces IS0 Recommendation R 1098-1969 to which it is technically
3、 identical. 6、ithout license from IHS -,-,- INTERNATIONAL STANDARD IS0 10984975 (E) Veneer plywood for general use - General requirements 1 SCOPE This International Standard specifies the general re- quirements for veneer plywood panels for general use, defined in IS0 2074. 2 FIELD OF APPLICATION This Internation
7、al Standard applies to flat veneer plywood panels, composed of at least three plies. It does not concern panels covered with decorative veneers, faced panels and panels for special use. In the normal dry condition, no outer ply shall have a thickness greater than 3,5 mm and no inner ply shall have a
8、 thickness greater than 5 mm. However, for coniferous plywood the thickness of the inner and outer plies shall not exceed 6,5 mm. 5 MOISTURE CONTENT When the panels leave the shall be between 6 and 14 % 6 WORKMANSHIP factory the moisture content The panels shall be rectangular with straight edges an

10、 ISO., Plywood - Types of gluing and de termination of their physical, mechanical and biological resistance. 1) 4 CONSTRUCTION OF PANELS In general, the grain of two successive plies shall form a right angle. Plies symmetrical to one another relative to the centre ply or the core shall have the same
11、 thickness and shall consist of the same species of wood or of species having similar physical characteristics. They shall be produced in the same manner, i.e. either by rotary cutting or by slicing. In general, the tight side of veneers constituting the face and back shall be on the outside. Non-pe
12、rforated paper strips for jointing shall not be used in the interior. If they are used for edge joints or to repair splits in the outer plies, they shall be removed afterwards. 7 CHARACTERISTICS OF OUTER PLIES According to the grades of appearance, the outer plies may be formed - of a single veneer,
13、 or - of several veneers, of design or colours matching or non-matching, joined in equal or different widths. The jointing and permissible defects shall be in accordance with IS0 publications referring to the classification by appearance of panels. 8 CHARACTERISTICS OF INNER PLIES The inner plies of
14、 plywood may consist of veneers of any width, joined or not. They may contain defects or characteristics of the wood, or manufacturing defects, insofar as these do not affect appearance and suitability of the plywood for its intended use, in compliance with IS0 2426. 9 GLUING The adjacent plies shal
15、l be tightly glued over all contact surfaces. The gluing of different types of panels shall be in accordance with ISO. . . 1) In preparation.
