8、used at the working place of the dentist present difficulties in their identification for the dentist, the dental dealer and the dental manufacturer. It is therefore, necessary to have a comprehen- sive plan view system which will facilitate the work of the den- tist, the dental dealer and the denta
9、l manufacturer in identify- ing, unambiguously, items and combinations, and prevent misunderstandings in ordering, selling, and manufacturing items and combinations thereof. The plan view system and the identification card detailed in this International Standard were developed to assist the dentist,
10、 the dental dealer, and the dental manufacturer. 1 Scope and field of application This International Standard lays down a reference plan for the location of the items, it gives symbols for the items and a two- digit system for the identification of the combination of items which are used at the work
11、ing place of the dental team where examination, treatment and other clinical procedures, with the patient directly involved, are carried out. The system provides the means to give general information about the presence of items and to describe relevant characteristics concerning dimensional flexibil
12、ity and adap- tability of the items and parts of their accessories. 2 Reference 3 Reference plan The reference plan consists of a chart the centre of which refers to the mouth of the patient. The sectors are symbolized by numbers 1 to 12 as on a watch dial. Four concentric circles around the centre
13、at a distance of 0,5 m each give the means to clearly locate the exact position of the different elements. The circles are identified by the letters A, B, C and D. The location of the items of dental equipment as well as an in- dication of the working place of the dentist and his assistant may be gi

It consists of two digits, separated by an oblique stroke, with the first dig
17、it indicating the location of the dentists instrumentation and the second the location of the dental assistants instrumentation. 21、talled separately or part of a whole unit. The information is given by marking the respective column in table 1 with a cross. 7 Adaptability of mechanical instrumentation and patients chair The horizontal and/or vertical adaptability of the mechanical in- strumentation (drives, hand pieces, etc.), t
22、he tray devices and bearing arms and the patients chair shall be indicated in this section of the identification system. 26、ble in format A511, which includes all essential information laid down in this International Standard. Once filled in with the relevant information concerning the equip- ment of the dentists working place it may be kept on record in the dentists office. The manufacturer and dealer may wish to supply
27、 this card with each unit of dental equipment in order to give their clients the information covered by this International Standard.
