Scope This standard provides for ships chains for general use such as guard chains, accommodation ladder sling chains, etc. with the exception of chains for cargo slings, lumber lashing chains and chain stoppers. Remark: In this s
5、tandard, the particulars in with the International System of Units (SI), and are given for reference only. are in accordance 2. Classification The chain shall be classified into two types of long link chain and short link chain. 3. Shape and Dimensions The shape and dimensions shall be as shown in F
6、igs. 1 and 2. 4. Material The materials shall conform to JIS G 3105, or JIS G 3101-SS 41 or SS 34. 5. Method of Manufacture The method of manufacture shall be flash butt welding or forge welding. 6. Tests and Inspection The chain shall be tested for the following items and shall satisfy all the requ
7、irements. quired by the purchaser. The proof test, however, shall be carried out only when SO re- (1) Visual Inspection Under visual inspection no detrimental defects such as crack, deformation, etc. shall be found. O (2) Proof Test The chain, not less than 1 m in length, shall be subjected to the p
8、roof load specified in Figs. 1 and 2, and there shall be found no such defects as crack, break, etc. In the case any fault has been found, the chain is allowed to undergo retesting only once after faulty links have been replaced with new ones. The retesting, however, cannot be accepted, in the case
9、where a link has broken outside the weld or 10 % or over of the total links have shown some fault.
