8、Threaded Fasteners B 1084-1990 1. Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the method of test for obtaining characteristic value for tightening (hereafter referred to as “tightening characteristic value“) by combination of bolts and nuts. In this Standard tightening characteristic values to

9、 be objective are torque coefficient , coefficient of friction between threads , coefficient of friction between bearing surfaces, yield clamping force, yield tightening torque and ultimate clamping force. Further, this Standard is applicable, as appropriate to cases of obtaining tightening characte

10、ristic values of threaded parts other than bolts and nuts , and tightening characteristic values of combinations of threaded parts and screw threads of construction body. However, this is not applicable to cases where tightening characteristic values of set screws to give compressive force external

11、threaded fasteners , wood screws and tapping screws for tapping by external threaded fastener its self, as well as of threaded fasteners given special self-locking function are to be obtained. 2. Meanings of Terms and Symbols 2,1 Meanings of Terms are in accordance with JIS B 1083 and in addition wi

12、th JIS B 0101, Meanings of main terms used in this Standard 2.2 Symbols and Their Meanings For the purpose of this Standard main symbols and their meanings are in accordance with Table 1. Testing Apparatus The testing apparatus shall be provided with the following conditions. (1) The testing apparatus shall be capable of detecting data of

18、 required measuring items to respective “tightening characteristic values to be obtainedf1 shown in Table 2 according to continuous record( ) or reading-out of indicator( 2). Notes (I) This indicates the continuous record by recorder or measurement at extremely short sampling intervals. ( 2 , This i

In the case of obtaining yield clamping force, yield tightening torque and ultimate clamping force, A marks and 0 marks shall be recorded continuously. obtaining only ultimate clamping force, in

23、dependent upon the tightening angle the maximum value of tightening axial tensions may be measured. 25、orque on fitted portion of threads, torque on bearing surfaces and tightening axial tension, unless particularly specified, shall be 2 2 % relative to the measuring value. In the case of obtaining the yield clamping force, and yield tightening torque, the detecting values of tightening angles shall

26、have linearity relative to the true values in the measuring range. Spring characteristics of bolted joint of testing apparatus shall be linear in the range of tightening axial tensions. Specifications of clamped part of testing apparatus (the part to be placed between the specimen bolt and the beari

27、ng surface of nut) and the set of specimens shail be, as a rule, in accordance with Fig. 1. Fig. 1. SDecimen 4.1 Set of Bolt, Nut, and Reference Bearing Surface Plate (Specimen A) The specimen A is to be used for test for examining tightening characteristic value with uniting the conditions of bearing surfa

31、ces relating to actual using bolt, nut its self, and is the set of bolt and nut to be tested and reference bearing surface plate specified in 4.3.1. 4.2 Set of Bolt, Nut and Actual Use Bearing Surface Plate (Specimen B) The specimen B is the specimen to be used for test to be carried out for examini

38、e 1 of JIS B 10011 chamfering dimension (Refer to JIS B 1001) 5. Test Conditions Test conditions shall be in accordance with the following. (1) For specimens of 4.1 and 4.2, unless there is special reason, not used specimen shall be used and these, as a rule, not be reused. In the case of test to ob

39、tain tightening characteristic value for repeating use, the history of individual specimen shall be made clear. (2) Attach any one of bolt head or nut so as not to turn to testing ap- paratus and apply tightening torque to the other. consider the bearing surface plate as one part of clamped part, an

40、d so fix to the testing apparatus body as not to turn together. In the case where in specimen B of 4.2, the test is carried out by inserting a washer between the bolt head or nut and the bearing surface plate, do not fix intentionally the washer. At that time, (3) Carry out the test with making clea

41、r the specifications of bolt, nut, washer and bearing surface, specifications of testing apparatus, set condition of specimen, lubricating conditions, tightening turning speed and environment of test Refer to (1) to (10) of 7.1. Further, unless specified relating to tightening turning speed, it is p

43、king permitted without license from IHS -,-,- 7 B 1084-1990 6.1 Obtaining Method of Torque Coefficient The obtaining method of torque coefficient shall be as follows. (1) Measure the values of tightening axial tension and tightening torque() at an arbitrary point in the range of 50 to 80 % of bolt a

44、xial tension( 7 , corresponding to specified yield point or Standard proof stress of bolt. tightening axial tension and number of measuring points are specified otherwise, follow the specification. 45、alue of the minimum value of yield point or proof stress specified in each strength division in JIS B 1051 multiplied by the effective sectional area specified in JIS B 1082. (*) By measuring the torque on fitted portion of threads and torque on bearing surfaces, the sum may be taken as the value of

(2) Take the calculated value (in the case of not less than two measuring points, the average value of calculated values) obtained by substi- tuting values of tightening axial tension Ff and tightening torque formula (1) as the torque coefficient K of the specimen. (1) Measure the values of tightening axial tension and torque on f

48、itted portion of threads() at an arbitrary point in the range of 50 to 80 % of axial tension(7) of bolt corresponding to Standard yield point or Standard proof stress of bolt. However, in the case where the range of values of tightening axial tension and number of measuring points are determined otherwise, follow the specifications.
