3、ade and Industry through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee as the result of proposal for revision of Japanese Industrial Standard submitted by Japan Office & Institutional Furniture Association (JOIFA)/ Japanese Standards Association (JSA), draft being attached, based on t

4、he provision of Article 12 Clause 1 of the Industrial Standardization Law applicable to the case of revision by the provision of Article 14. Standards of JIS S 1039 and JIS S 1040 are unified at the time of revi- sion because of both standards having common elements such as similar principal constru

5、ction components such as column, shelf board, shelf board supporting equipment and so on, the uses of storage and archivirg goods on the shelf board, and so on. Consequently JIS S 104011994 is with drawn and JIS S 1039:1989 is re- vised and replaced with this Standard. Attention is drawn to the poss

6、ibility that some parts of this Standard may conflict with a patent right, application for a patent after opening to the public, utility model right or application for registration of utility model after opening to the public which have technical properties. Scope

15、 This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies shelves and racks, hereafter Remarks Herein, shelves mean those capable of storing and archiving books, stationary, and business supplies constructed using the principal con- struction components such as columns, shelf boards, shelf board sup- porting equ

16、ipment in open-access style. 2 The standards listed in attached table 1 contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this Standard. The most recent editions of the standard (including the amendments) shall be applied. Normative references Definitions For the pur

Dimensions The dimensions of shelf shall be in accordance with the agreement Information : Dimension marking of shelves is shown in Annex 2. 6 Quality 6.1 Appearance The appearanc

30、e shall be as follows: a) Finishing of appearances shall be good and there shall be no noticeable fault such as defects, warp, separation of connected parts and so on. Sharp intrusions, corners or fine split shall not exist at the parts where human body and clothes touch. The visible surface of pain

31、ted parts shall be uniform in luster, tone of colour paint- ing film, and free from defects such as uneven painting, sagging, and so on. b) c) 6.2 when tested according the specification in clause 9. 34、all be composed of columns, shelf boards, shelf board supporting equip- ment and accessories, and shall be able to be disassembled. Connecting parts shall be solid using welding, screw clamp and so on. To connect with screw or other metal fittings, the connecting part shall be the structure not easi

35、ly be loosened. Shelf boards shall be fixed by the method such that it does not easily slip out. The removable shelf board supporting equipments and so on shall be of a tightly fixed structure. The lowest shelf board may be fixed type. Shelves that do not independently support themselves shall be so

36、 structured to be connected to a solid structure (4) by the overturn preventive devices and so on. 40、ects such as breakage, deforma- tion, worm-eaten spots and so on. Measuring of moisture content shall be in accordance with the method specified in JIS Z 2101 or electric measuring method. Shall be in accordance with the specification of JIS A 5905 and JIS A 5908, and the formaldehyde release shall

41、be equal or less than the specification of grade F *fib. Shall be in accordance with the plywood grade 1 or grade 2 in JAS, and the formaldehyde release shall be equal-or less than the specification of grade F *fib. Shall be in accordance with JIS A 5549 and JIS K 6804, and the formaldehyde release

42、shall be equal or less than the specification of grade F i? fib. Shall be in accordance with JIS K 5961 and JIS K 5962, and the formaldehyde release shall be equal or less than the ssecification of erade F $k-b-ik. 45、39 : 2005 Temperature and humidity conditions at the test place The temperature and hu- midity conditions at the test place shall be ordinary temperature and ordinary hu- midity specified in JIS Z 8703. The test of shelf boards, however, shall be in accor- dance with 5.1 in JIS S 1200. Test specimen

46、 The test specimen shall be assembled according to instructions. If the shelves can be assembled or combined in different ways, the most adverse combination shall be used for each test. Tighten up any assembly fittings before testing. Classification of test The classification of the test indicates t

47、he different load ap- plied. The strength test as shown in 9.3 shall be performed in the same test classi- fica tion. Precision of test The precision of the test shall be, unless otheiwise specified, 5 % in force, 1 % in mass and 0.5 mm in precision of each part dimension. Testing equipment Floor su

48、rface Stopper The stopper shall be that to prevent the testing body from sliding but not tilting, not higher than 12 mm except in cases where the design of the test body necessitates the use of higher stopper, in these cases the lowest that will pre- vent the test body from moving shall be used. Loading pad The loading pad shall be rigid, cylinder, 100 mm in diameter, and having a flat face of 12 mm edge radius.
