、29.118 JAPANESE INDUSTRIAL STANDARD J I S Protective helmets for bicycle users T 8134-1995 1. Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the protective helmets for bicycle users (hereafter referred to as “protective helmets“), which is used when riding on a bicycle and worn for the purpose of

、 protecting the user from the injury on the head and mitigating the degree of injury. Remarks 1, The following standard is cited in this Standard. JIS D 1050 Road vehicles - Techniques of measurement in impact tests - Instrumentation 2. The units and numerical values given in 1 in this Standard are

、based on the traditional units and are appended for informative reference. 2. Definitions For the purpose of this Standard, the following definitions apply: Shell The material which forms the outline of the protective helmet. Harness chinstrap mounting part, chinstrap length adjusting part and chins

、trap fastener used for retaining the protective helmet in an appropriate position on the head. The device which consists of all parts such as chinstrap, Chincup form of chin of the protective helmet user. The accessory to the chinstrap which is made by adjsting to the Perform ance s Shock absorption

、 of protective helmet The protective helmet, when tested in accordance with the testing method specified in 6.4, shall satisfy the following requirements. (i) The impact acceleration of not less than 2940 m/s2299.8 G) shall not be generated. (2) In the case where the impact acceleration of not less

、than 1470 m/s2149.9 G) is generated, its duration shall not be more than 4 ms. 3.2 Strength f harness in 6.5, the harness shall be that the elongation of the chinstrap including the When tested in accordance with the method specified elongation due to the slide of fastening device is not more than 3

、0 mm as the increase (I, - I,) of the maximum instant elongation (I,) after dropping a drop weight compared with the elongation at the time of static loading (lo) of preload, and the fastening device is able to be detached after the test.
