2、s been made based on the original Japanese Industrial Standard revised by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee, as the result of proposal for revision of Japanese Industrial Standard submitted by Steel Castings and Forgings

3、Association of Japan (JSCFA)/ Japanese Standards Association (JSA) with the draft being attached, based on the provision of Article 12 Clause 1 of the Industrial Standardization Law applicable to the case of revision by the provision of Article 14. Consequently JIS G 5121 : 1991 is replaced with thi

4、s Standard. In order to conform to the International Standard, this revision has been prepared based on IS0 11972 : 1998 Corrosion-resistant cast steels for general applications. 11、ry requirements) of the first edition of IS0 11972 Corrosion-resistant cast steels for general applications published in 1998 without modifying the technical contents. The some items not specified in the original International Standard have been addi- tionally contained herein as Japanese Industrial

12、 Standard. The portions with continuous sidelines or dotted underlines in this Standard are the items not included in the original International Standard. The table of modifi- cation is shown as Annex (informative) with their explanations. 1 Scope This Standard specifies cast steels for general corr

13、osion-resistant applica- tions (including centrifugal cast steel pipes, hereafter referred to as “steel castings“). 20、he maximum Mo content for class SCS 1, SCS lX, SCS 2 or SCS 2A may be 0.50 %. 6 Mechanical properties Steel castings shall be tested in accordance with 12.3, and the proof stress, tensile strength, elongation, reduction of area and hardness shall be as given in Table 3 and Table 4. The values of Cha

21、rpy impact strength may be subject to the agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer. 24、the intergranular corrosion or cracking of the test piece shall not be found on the bent face. 8 Shapes and dimensions Steel castings shall be tested in accordance with 12.5, and the shape and dimensions shall comply with 6 . 2 . 3 c) in JIS G 0307. This pro- vision shall not apply if it is otherwis

25、e agreed between the purchaser and the manu- facturer. 9 Appearances be free from flaws, cracks, or blow holes, etc. detrimental to use. Heat treatment other than given in the Tables may be

28、subjected to the agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer. 12 Tests PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT -,-,- 13 G 5121 : 2003 12.1 Testing location The testing location shall be, as a rule, the manufactur- ing plant concerned. At the request of the purchaser, the manufacturer shall allow the purchas

29、er to attend the test. 12.2 Analytical test 12.2.1 General items of analytical test General items of analytical test shall be in accordance with 6.2.2 e) in JIS G 0307. 12.2.2 Method of analysis The analytical method shall be in accordance with any one of the following standards: JIS G 1211, JIS G 1

30、212, JIS G 1213, JIS G 1214, JIS G 1215, JIS G 1216, JIS G 1217, JIS G 1218, JIS G 1219, JIS G 1228, JIS G 1237, JIS G 1238, JIS G 1253, JIS G 1256, JIS G 1257 12.3 Mechanical test 12.3.1 General items of mechanical test General items of mechanical test shall be in accordance with 6.2.2 c in JIS G 0

31、307. The following conditions shall also The shape and dimensions of the test specimen shall be in accordance with Fig- ure 1 a), b), c) or d) of JIS G 0307. The preparation of test specimens for centrifugal cast steel pipes shall be sub- jected to the agreement between the purchaser and the manufac

The test specimens shall be heat-treated together with the steel castings. apply: a) b) 12.4 Sulfuric acid-copper sulfate corrosion test 12.4.1 Preparation of test pieces The test pieces for the sulfuric acid-copper sulfate corrosion test shall becut from test specimens prepared according to

33、6.2.2 b) in JIS G 0307. 12.4.2 Test method The test method shall be as given in 9 j in JIS G 0307. In the case that the determination of the presence of intergranular corrosion cracking is difficult due to the mechanical cracking caused when the specified bending is per- formed, the determination ma

34、y be performed by bending the test piece to the maxi- mum angle at which mechanical cracking does not occur, which had been beforehand obtained by performing the bend test using a test piece of the same size which has not undergone immersion in the corrosion test liquid. 12.5 Measurement of shape an

35、d dimensions The shape and dimensions of steel castings shall be measured with a device having the precision required for the given tolerance. 12.6 Appearance test The appearance test of steel castings shall be in accor- dance with 6.2.3 a) in JIS G 0307. 36、3 1 2 . 7 Non-destructive test The non-destructive test of steel castings shall be in accordance with 6 . 2 . 3 b) in JIS G 0307. 13 Retest Retest of the mechanical properties shall be in accordance with 6 . 2 . 2 d) in JIS G 0307. 14 Inspection Inspection of steel castings shall be as follows: a) b

The mechanical properties shall conform to the requirements specified in clause 6. The corrosion resistance shall conf

38、orm to the requirements specified in clause 7 . The shape and dimensions shall conform to the requirements specified in clause 8. The appearance shall conform to the requirements specified in clause 9. The soundness shall conform to the requirements specified in clause 10. Steel castings shall not b

39、e subjected to any treatment prior to inspecting such as painting, which might interfere with the inspection. 15 Marking Steel castings which have passed inspection shall be clearly marked in accordance with clause 7 in JIS G 0307. For the classes SCS 1, SCS 6X and SCS 24, the heat treatment symbol

40、shall also be marked. 16 Report A report shall be issued in accordance with Annex 2 in JIS G 0307. If alloy elements are added as per Note (2) of Table 2, the content of the added elements shall be stated in the report. The report shall also indicate which one of Figure 1 a), b), c) or d) of JIS G 0

41、307 is used as the basis for the shape and dimen- sions of the test specimen. 17 Supplementary requirements The supplementary requirements are speci- fied on the inquiry and purchase order, and shall apply only when agreed upon be- tween the purchaser and the manufacturer. The items of the supplemen

42、tary requirements used in the option of the purchaser are included in JIS G 0307. The subclause numbers and items specified in JIS G 0307 used with this Standard are given below. The details of these items are listed in JIS G 0307, Others, whether or not in JIS G 0307, may be subjected to the agreem
