Scope examination and classification of surface qua
6、lity for steel castings teemed into sand moulds excluding those for machined surface. Method for examination and classification The methods for examination and classification of the casting surface shall be as given in the following: (1) General requirements for the examination method shall be in accordance with (1) of 3.4 (Appearance test)
20、in JIS G 0307. In the case of this Standard, however, the examination shall be carried out visually, but not with a mag- nifying glass. The location subject to the examination shall be agreed between the pur- chaser and supp
22、lier. In examination, the area of one visual field shall be, as a rule, 100 mm x 60 mm. The appearance of casting surface in the visual field to be examined shall be compared with the reference photographs, and graded into classes 1 to 5. Classifying shall be applied to the visual field of the worst
23、 degree of defect in each area to be examined. In the case where two or more types of defects lie in one visual field, the classifying shall be carried out for each type of defect. Report The manufacturer shall report the results of examination as neces- sary. In this case, the following items shall
24、 be reported unless otherwise specified.
