This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2006, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by January 2006. 31、es in order to clarify the operation of these standards. The list is not intended to be exhaustive and it is not a dictionary. Some terms and their equivalences can differ from those preferred and designated in other European Standards or standards at a national level. The terms and their equivalenc
32、es in this list have been selected and decided by the CEN/TC 38 experts in drafting the documents from which the terms have been drawn, and in operating the biological and chemical methods on wood preservatives and wood durability to which they relate. The list establishes the preferred terms and th
33、eir equivalences for the CEN/TC 38 series of standards at the time of its drafting. It provides the basis for ensuring that the terminology adopted in the revision of existing standards and in the drafting of future standards in the CEN/TC 38 series is harmonised and consistent.
