UL announces the effective date schedule for compliance with the requirements specified in the Fifth Edition of the Standard for Safety for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances, Part 2: Particular Requirements for Shavers, Hair Clippers, and Similar Appli
5、ances, UL 60335-2-8, that was published on October 28, 2004. UL recognizes that compliance with UL 60335-2-8 may have a significant impact on some products presently Listed in accordance with the requirements in UL 1028. Therefore, the effective date schedule was developed to give manufacturers time
6、 to integrate potential changes into their products or allow other products to go out of production. Products presently Listed can retain Listing to UL 1028 until UL 1028 is withdrawn. However, products may also be submitted for investigation in accordance with UL 60335-2-8. To retain Listing after
7、UL 1028 is withdrawn, products currently Listed to UL 1028 will require review and possible retest to determine compliance with UL 60335-2-8. 16、irements: 1. Deletion of the marking color requirements from Clause 7.1. 2. Revision of Clause 7.IODV to provide for the use of the international symbols for on and off without requiring also marking the product “OFF.“ 3. Revision of Table 22.104DV. 1. I for consistency with Article 400.22 of the Na
17、tional Electrical Code. 4. Revision of Table 25.7DV. I and Table B.25.7DV. I to reflect present requirements in UL 1028. 5. Editorial changes. COMMENTS DUE: August 26,2004 The attached comment matrix provides the comment dispositions from the canvass of the proposed fifth edition of UL 60335-2-8 dat
18、ed December 19, 2003. The ballots were due to the Secretary by April 30, 2004. The matrix contains all of the comments that were received. Proposals that have resulted from the comments received are contained in Appendix C. The effective dates are the same as stated in the proposal bu Ilet in. UL ha
19、s determined that consensus has been achieved regarding the ANSI approval of the fifth edition of UL 60335-2-8. The initial consensus count is 8 yes, 1 no, and O abstain. If you wish to change your vote in light of the dispositions/actions or the proposed changes, please respond to us in writing by

We are rewriting UL60335-2-40 so that there are either no deviations or wor

Please note that a color requirement for waning sim (crossed bathroom symbol) is waived on lEC60335-2-23 Chuse 7.1 also. NOTE 101 Svmbols 5574 and 5582 of IEC60417-1 are information signs and, exceDt
36、for the colors, the rules of IS0 3864 apply. Although not in complete agreement with the rationale provided by the commenter, UL agrees with the suggested revision. This will result in an additional national difference, however the IEC is also reviewing this proposed revision for Amendment 1 of IEC
