2、the rapid development of economic globalization, English has become a international language. We use it to communicate with the world. English, as a tool to connect the world, is playing its role. Thus, it is totally necessary for us to learn English well, however, we are seriously lacking of the la

3、nguage environment for English learning, the only way is classroom. In classroom, teachers and students talk in English, they study together and help each other. However, as far as I know, the performance of students in English class is very disappointing.I. The current situations of students enthus

4、iasm in English classroomWhen we enter the classroom, we may feel a little bit embarrassed. A teacher is standing on the dais talking, and students sitting below are quiet, some are listening, but others are sleeping, playing phones or doing other things irrelevant to studying. As for the teacher, h

5、e appears ignorant of students action. He still teaches and is eager to finish his task. When teachers ask questions, all the students bow their heads down, and nobody will answer. Maybe they dont know the answers or maybe they just dont want to open their mouths. So teachers often ask questions and

6、 answers them themselves.II. Reasons for itWhat causes this phenomenon? We prefer an active class with students enthusiasm rather than a boring class. Students are not interested in the class so they wont participate in it or maybe they are forced to attend the class. We always say that “interest is

7、 the best teacher”. When we are interested in one thing, we may do it well, so as the same, only when students are interested in the classroom, they may take an active part in it, then the classroom atmosphere will be energetic. Another reason is that some students are tired of English classroom. Th

8、ey consider English is much too difficult, and they cant follow the teachers, also English classroom is boring so that they hardly can concentrate on it. When teachers answer a question, they have no idea in their minds, so they choose to be quiet. Morever, there are also some objective factors such

9、 as teachers language, the relationship between teachers and students, seats arrangement and so on.III. How to improve itTo improve the classroom condition, I put forward some solutions as follows.3.1 Establish a good relationship with studentsAs a teacher, you should have a good relationship with s

10、tudents. Teachers can neither spoil students, losing the dignity nor treat the students too hard, making students terrified by the sight of their teachers. The relationship between teachers and students is not teaching and studying, teachers can be friends of students through their word and action a

11、nd make students feel love, concern, and courage from them. When teachers and students become friends, students will feel relax in classroom and they may be glad to listen to their friends talking, which has greatly improved the enthusiasm of the students. Moreover, when they have any question in cl

12、ass they will ask them without hesitation and teachers are much happy to answer. So a good relationship between teachers and students can make a harmonious classroom atmosphere and stimulate students to learn English on their own initiative.3.2 The arrangement of the seatsPeople always feel interest

13、ed in the new things, so constantly change students seats can play a promoting role on students learning. In general, our traditional seats mode is teachers standing on dais face the students who sit below in rows. This may cause some students sit behind cant listen clearly what teachers talk so don

14、t pay attention to the class and do some other things. Thus, we may do some change about the seats. Teachers dont need to stand on dais and keep away from students, they can join the students. We may change the location of chairs and desks. Students can sit in a circle with teachers teach inside. Th

15、is way, teachers and students can close contact. And studying in a new seats environment surrounded with new partners makes students feel much fresh and happy which can improve their enthusiasm of learning in a short period of time.3.3 Teachers ability of language expressionWe all like to make frien

16、ds with those persons who have a sense of humor, because we can be happy and relax with them. In classroom, teachers should also pay attention to their language expression, and use a humorous, witty and vivid language to give lectures as much as possible, so that students can take the initiative to

17、learn with a happy and relaxed mood in a relaxed and harmonious classroom atmosphere. If teachers teach in a boring and mechanical language, at the beginning, students can concentrate on the class, but if teachers keep this style all the same, students may get bored of that so that they will lose in

18、terest in the class. On the contrary, a humorous teacher can attract the attention of students in his or her language advantage. In the classroom, students are all energetic and enthusiastic, and they are eager to learn. Teachers amuse them from time to time, making classroom interesting and classro

19、om time pass quickly. Teachers should also teach in a vivid way. For example, when explaining an English text, teachers can through their own vivid language to enable students to understand the central idea of the text more thoroughly and help students learn easily. In such cheerful classroom, not o

20、nly the students get knowledge, but also the teachers achieve the teaching objective.3.4 Classroom discussion Discussion is effective on promoting students participation and active involvement in classroom. Discussion enables students to actively participate in classroom learning so that students tr

21、ansfer from passive absorption to active learning. In discussion, everyone in the group should set his or her wit to work, they can ask question, put forward their own opinion and their puzzles, and they get together to work them out. Everyone has a right to speak, they share their views with their

22、partners and also get opinions from their partners. Because the communication objection is their classmates, students wont feel nervous and can say whatever theyd like to say. In English class, when teachers have finished a text, they can make students have a short discussion in groups about the cen

23、tral idea or analyzing one paragraph in their own views. Students discuss in a relaxed state of mind which makes them open minded. And then teachers can make each group recommends a representative to express their groups thinking and then teachers give the finial explanations.3.5 Entertainment In th

24、e traditional teaching mode, learning and playing are separated. When the learning to learn, play when the play. While, the new concept of learning shows that studying and playing can be combined. In classroom, teachers can put the content of teaching into games. Students suffer great pressure every

25、 day, so classroom games can help students reduce pressure and teachers can also achieve their teaching task. People always like playing, because it makes them delighted and relaxed, similarly playing games in classroom can not only make students happy and relaxed, but also make students actively ac

26、cept and absorb teaching content. Group competition is the most effective way to help students to learn actively. In competition, students are eager to highlight themselves to attract other peoples attention. And teachers evaluation is also important, it can stimulate the enthusiasm of the students

27、in a certain extent. In English class, to enable students to memorize English words, teachers can separate students into several groups and compete, and see which group can write more and accurate with their partners help. Finally, teachers sum up and select the best group. Those students who get en

28、couraged can perform better later days and those who show poor performance can be more aggressive and they will find out the deficiency and constantly improve themselves.IV. conclusionEnglish classroom education is much more important for students to learn English. Teachers should give full play to

29、the role of classroom education, and cultivate the interest, enhance the motivation for students to learn English. Some students are bored of English, they think English is boring and difficult, so they cant put their minds into the classroom thoroughly. As a teacher, what is a successful class? A s

30、uccessful class means that students in class all are eager to learn, and they act enthusiastic in class. Teaching is like a performance. The dais is a stage, teachers stand on it and do their performance. Only when the performance is wonderful and attractive, the audience will cheer and applaud. Tea
