2、nces in culture. I want to talk about the differences in food culture and education styles. With the development of economic, more and more people pay attention on food and education quality. So the food and education culture has been becoming popular in our daily life. In fact, we some times dont k

3、now the differences with China and American of the culture. For example, they have different in diet attitude, food objects, ways of eating and education styles.Key words: China, America, food culture, education styles, different1. The different in food culture As we all know, “there are three impor

4、tant things when you in the outside, which are eating, wearing and living.” You can see” eating” is in the first place, eating is really important in our life. And the diet is also a kind of culture. Now, I will make some explanations about the different food culture in China and America. First, we

5、talk about the different in diet attitudes. As we can see, in China, we will eat something with sensibility. When we choose what to eat, we will care more about the color, the smell, the taste, the shape and the device. Because our nations in the past many years, the productive level is very low, an

6、d many people are always hungry, they cant eat enough food. So if a kind of culture treats eating as the most important thing, there will appear two situations. On one hand, this function of eating will be played to maximize, not only for surviving, but also for using it to maintain health, which is

7、 the cultural basis of “if you want to keep health, youd better choose to enjoy some delicious food rather than take medicines”. On the other hand, if pay too much attention on food, it will make people often pursuit the delicious food. While Americans maybe more rationality. When they eat something

8、, the things they care most are the nutritious value, such as the protein, the fat, the vitamin, the minerals and the carbohydrate. But it has made some problems, for example, from Los Angeles to New York, the steak is only one taste, which has no arts to speak of. As a dish, chicken is chicken, ste

9、ak is steak. Nest, we will say the food objects. In America, they think the foods are used just to eat, so they often eat a large piece of meat, the whole chicken and other “hard food”. However in China, we eat something we must enjoying the taste of it. So the Chinese cooking also show great random

10、ness on the selected materials. According to a survey of western botanists, Chinese food has more than 600 kinds of vegetables, which is six times more than it in the west. In fact, in Chinese dishes, the vegetables is a kind of daily food, and meat dishes only on festivals and holidays or with high

11、er living of some people, but in American they always canned food, fast food and so on. Last but not least, we will talk about the different ways of eating. There is a large difference in the ways of eating, which has an impact on the national character. In China, a banquet, no matter what purpose,

12、there will be only one form, which is everyone sitting in a circle, sharing one table. And this kind of banquet should use round table, which can create an atmosphere of unite, courtesy and fun. The delicious food put on the tables center, it is not only the object of taste, but also is a kind of me

13、dium to exchange feelings. People take to each other and take food to others, which reflect the mutual respect between people and the virtue of courtesy. Although from the healthy point of view, this way of diet has obvious problems, it is consistent with our nations mentality of reunion, reflecting

14、 the classical Chinese philosophy of “harmony”, which is more convenient to exchange each others emotions While in American, although the food and wine are very important, they still treated as foils. Friendship is the core of the banquet. But they only communicate with the guests who are next to. I

15、f compared the friendship of a banquet with dance, it can be said that Chinese banquet is like a dance together, while in American like a dance with a men and women. From it, we can see that the purpose of banquets friendship is very obvious in both Chinese and American banquets. The difference is t

16、hat Chinese banquet reflects the all seats of friendship; while in American dinner reflects the friendship between the neighboring guests. The most obvious difference about the ways of eating is buffet. This method is that all the food is listed on the table. Everyone can take what they need, not fi

17、xed to the seat, and move freely to get what they want to. This way provides a convenient channel to exchange emotions between individuals. And they dont have to make all the words they said known by all people. It also shows the Americans pursue of personality and self-respect. However, to some ext

18、ent, eating by oneself and no disturb to others, will seem lack a kind of sentiment about celebrating together and being happy together.2. The different in education styles In this respect, I say about the differences in college education and education system. First, as we all know, in China, having

19、 entranced college, students finally have the chance to lead a relaxed life after so many years study life. Many of them pursuit not to fail in every terms final examination, considering that is enough. And after these four years, students both can get a job and go for further study, it mainly depen

20、d on your personal desire. In the four years life, we have to get enough credits to get good job, and we need to attend to require of courses and elective subjects. In college you may not go to every class, it is so common that every student have ever escaped from classes. And during these four year

21、s we can join all kinds of organizations and that is a good way to improve our communication skills and we can meet more people, may be one or more among them will do us a favor in the future. We also take part in many kinds of national examinations, among which are CET4, CET6, and NCRE2. If you get

22、 the credits, it will help you a lot when you attend a job after graduation. Now let us have a look at American college life. In the front of this article we know their students have a very relaxed life as they do not need to worry about entering college, they can go to college though their score is

23、 poor. Of course, if you want to choose famous college you should have good scores. After American students entering college, many of them begin to work harder than they ever did, they may stay in the library all day long, and they think it is time for their effort, or they will not get satisfied jo

24、b after graduation. And on the way I want to say some thing not so important. In China a student can go to famous university as long as he has good social relationship, and he will get a gradual certificate. While if you study in America, you should pay attention, getting in by the backdoor is impos

25、sible, if you do not work hard you will never graduate successfully, and no satisfied job is waiting for you. In general, Chinese education styles pay more attention to basic knowledge, especially to math physic and chemistry. Our students really have steady basic knowledge that the US students admi

26、re very much. When we turn to see US students, we can easily find they prefer to improve social skills, including arguing, social work and teamwork, this difference lead to a phenomenon that if Chinese and American both work in a company most of the Americans will work as manager, and most of we Chi

27、nese will work as technical staffs who work for the manager. When asked what bring this difference, American says Chinese have very good knowledge standard but they are not willing to talk about their opinions in meetings, they are used to work a long with former experience and lack innovation spiri

28、t. Nest, I want to say the different education system. In China the majority of young people will get the opportunity to enjoy the 9 years mandatory education and very few people can go to high school or college, so the proportion of people gets educated to the whole people is quite low. The reason

29、why our government puts so many efforts to encourage the young to get further study is mainly to improve our nations quality. In American, education attract great attention from the government, compulsory education is 12 years,3 years longer than ours, the students not only enjoy free books but even

30、 have free lunch, from this you can see how American care about education. What is more, most of the people will not get satisfied with 12 years education, if so, they can hardly get a job. Many of them will go for further study. They study more forwardly and more self-conscious and these two kinds

31、of good behavior also bring a good social atmosphere. Chinese teachers are used to divide students in different level based on they marks in the exam, and students will be divided in to different classes. While American teachers prefer to use ABCD in stead of Arabic numerals to evaluate the students

32、, in their eyes every student is good, so teachers will not grudge praise for the students, may be appreciative education is enlightened from this. Conclusion: that is the whole content I want to share with you to learn the difference between China and American. In my opinion, the reasons which caus
