Foreword When browsing the works of other senior students, I found a strange phenomenon that the higher grade students get in, the more mediocre building they will design. Honestly speaking, teac

3、hers will become harsher and pay more attention to the feasibility of your design in higher grade. As a result, a lot of students choose to create a conventional design in order to avoid trouble. In my opinion, creative design doesnt go against actual requirement. No problems will be solved unless y

4、ou work hard.2. Design requirementsIn this design, we are asked to design a comprehensive building for a primary school in southern China. This building concludes special classrooms, multifunctional classrooms, lecture hall and so on. The construction area of this building is about 3500 square meter

5、s and the layers must be less than 3. 3. Base analysis There are four different bases to choose this time. To use the land more efficiently, I choose a base whose shape looks like a trapezoidal. On the north side of the base is the main road outside the school. Student can get into school from that

6、road. On the west side of the base is a playground. Other teaching building lies to the south-east of the base. The entrance of this base can be located in south or east. The reason why I choose this base is because the connection between the building which needs to be designed and other constructed

7、 building is not as tight as other bases. So I can come up with a whole new style without considering other buildings in this school. 4. Program conceptAs a college student, I had walked through all these study periods and I agree that student might be the hardest job in China. As a result, I want t

8、o design a teaching building where students can relax or even have fun in it. Whats more, Myopia is becoming a serious problem among students. I think it may be good to add some green into the teaching building. With the deterioration of the urban environment, architects are paying more attention to

9、 the environmental aspects of their buildings. However, these attempts are always limited in skyscrapers. So I come up with an idea, what about design a green house for teaching building? In the end, I make up a decision to design a building whose shape looks like a green hill, so I decide to add a

10、cover which is made up with a lot of sheet material to the whole building and the grass will be grew on these sheets. I also overhang some platforms to work as courtyard so that primary school students will have places to have fun together.5. Plan designThe innovation of the architecture design happ

11、ens not only in its shape but also in its flat. To make my design looks more innovative, I change the shape of classrooms from rectangle into fusiform. This kind of design makes classrooms cater to the shape of the building perfectly. Moreover, if a student found that his class is too boring to have

12、 and begin to look outside inevitably, the arcuated wall may let his viewpoint involuntarily back to the blackboard. As it is known to all, the arcuated corridor always has the ability to guide people. In order to create a fluent space, I decide to let my corridor surround the fusiform classroom fre

13、ely. Having such magical and interesting corridor, I concerned that students will not feel boring any more when they pass through classrooms. In the aspect of arranging function, I set rooms which have the function of public service like library into first floor so that people can get there easily.

14、Then I set computer rooms and laboratories into the second floor. Finally, I set rooms which need top lighting such as art room and rooms which may make some noise such as music room into the third floor. 6. Problems encounter and solutionsRegularly, it is impossible for an architect to finish desig

15、ning a program without encounter different kinds of problems. The most difficult problem I have met is the area of problem. When drawing floor plan, I find that the area of my base is too small to contain my teaching building. A creative building always means a waste of space from a certain point of

16、 view. As we all know, the lighting for classroom is very important, however, the width of the base is too short in particular. After thousands times of trying, I confess that the only way to solve the problem is too redesign the floor plan. I adjust computer room whose need for lighting is not as c

17、rucial as other classrooms to east to west. Considering the aspect of evacuation problem, there is only one stair on second floor which is not enough for students to escape when fire happens. To solve the problem, I add a grass slope for second floor and turn the middle courtyard into a traffic hud.

18、7. Personal understandingAs far as I am concerned, the shape and function is both important aspects of architecture design. Under a certain condition, if you deliberately look for the beauty of buildings shape, you may encounter some serious problems in the aspect of function. To make a design succe

19、ss, we need to find a balance between these two aspects. On the other hand, if you dont pay attention to this, no matter how gorgeous you design the shape or how reasonable the function is, the design is failed with no doubt.8. EpilogueAll in all, this is the introduction of my very first design in the third grade. During the design, I find it interesting solving all kinds of problems and seeing a design forming from nothing. However, there are still some regrets in this design, may be I should focus more on details next time to make my design perfect.
