The Britishborn musician is a true international image who influenced the world with his message of peace and love. In America, Lennon is one of the most loved people to ever call the United St

2、ates home. Born and raised in Liverpool, as a teenager Lennon became interested in jazz. His first band, the Quarrymen, developed into the Beatles in 1960,and then he became one of the founding members of this international super group. He, along with Paul McCartney, formed the early creative band t

3、hat changed music in the world. When the group disbanded in 1970, Lennon took up a solo career that produced the popular albums John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, and popular songs such as Give Peace a Chance and Working Class Hero. Lennon was one of the founding members of the international

4、super group, the Beatles. The groups success has never been copied, and its music is as popular today as it was in the 1960s and 1970s. Lennon wrote, or cowrote some of the most memorable tunes ever written in the RocknRoll genre.He found great success as a member of the Beatles, which is the most c

5、ommercially successful group in history, and as a solo artist,Lennon was also a political activist. His views on religion and politics caused great deal of controversy in the United States. He was an outspoken critic of the countrys involvement in the Vietnam conflict. His popularity caused great co

6、ncern with government officials because he had the attention of the young people in America at the time. Lennon had been living in New York for several years, where he was being watched by the FBI, who wanted to find grounds to drive him away from the United States. He spread his words of peace in d

7、ifferent ways and gained great popularity among people. Lennon was killed on December 8, 1980 by a crazy gunman outside his home in New York City.
