The Library subscribes to the following 3 sub-databases:China Listed Firms Corporate Governance Research Database中(國上市公司治理結構研究數據庫 )CSMAR China Stock Market Financial Database Annual Report
2、(中國上市公司財務年報數據庫 )CSMAR China Stock Market Financial Database Financial Ratios (中國上市公司財務指標分析數據庫 )1. CHOOSE DATABASE AND CATEGORY OF DATA TO BE DISPLAYED1. Select database from the pull down list2. Category of data of the selected database will be displayed.E.g. China Stock Market Financial Database-An
3、nual ReportSelect the required data/information. e.g. Balance Sheet2. SELECT CODE/S1. Click Select code 2. Highlight the required st ock codes and move them to thebox on the right. Aftermoving the codes, click OKAlternatively, prepare your own text file of codes and import3. SELECT TIME INTERV ALthe
4、 code file. Click to see further instruction and the requiredSelected stock codes are loaded. Select time interval for dataformat of the text fileto be displayed4. SELECT DATA FIELD/STick the required data field/s to be displayed.Alternatively, you may set field condition/s to retrieve required data
5、 of stoc ks that satisfies the condition/s. Follow the steps below:1. Follow Steps 1 4 above2. Under Set field condition, select the table for choosing field/s to set condit ion/s on. e.g. Balance Sheet3. From the pull down list, select the data field to set the condition. E.g. Int erests Receivable
6、4. Set the required condition and click ADD. Use and, or to set more than on e condition5. SELECT FILE FORMAT FOR DATA TO BE EXPORTED1. Select the file format to be exported .e.g. CSV File and click Submit.2. A Request Report will be generated. Click on the zip file to get the reque sted data file.6

DOWNLOAD THE DATA FILEOnce the zip file is opened, right click on the first file and select“Save Tar get As ”The second file is a text file listing out the data fields you have selected and their full description.Help is always available at the Information Desk in the Library.The Hong Kong Polytechnic University04/2007
