4、eednt. may，might的用法1. 表示许可或征求对方的许可，有“可以”的意思。例如：You may go now.你可以走了。May I use your computer?我用一下你的电脑可以吗？-No, you dont have to. 2. 回答以may开头的疑问句有如下表达法：例如：May I smoke here? 我可以在这儿抽烟吗？-Yes, you may. -Yes, please.-No, you cant. -No, you mustnt.-No, youd better not.3. 表示猜测，通常只用于陈述句例如：You may be right.你可能是
5、对的。4. 过去式might表示的语气更加委婉、客气例如：Might I use your pen for a while?我能用用你的钢笔吗？5. 在口语中can可以代替may表示许可，但can较随便，may更正式例如：Can I use your bike, John?约翰，我可以用一下你的自行车吗？ May I have a look at your license please, sir?先生，我可以看一下你的执照吗 cant的用法 1. 表示能力，意思是：能，会。 例：I cant swim. 我不会游泳。 Can you drive？ 你会开车吗？ 注意：can表示能力可和be a
6、ble to互换使用，且后者有更多的时态，be able to常被用来表示can所不能表示的将来或完成的概念。 (二) Review of modals:should could wouldcan，could 的用法 1. 表能力，有“能”、“会”、“能够”的意思例如：Can you drive a car? 你会开车吗？-Yes, I can. 我会。 -No, I cant. 我不会。2. 表允许，在口语中代替 may，有“可以”的意思例如：Can I use your bike?我可以用你的自行车吗？ 3. 表示可能性，常用于否定句和疑问句例如：Can it be true?那会是真的吗

He cant be at school.今天是星期天。他不可能在学校里。4. 过去式could表示的语气更加委婉、客气例如：Could I come to see you tomorrow?明天我可以来见你吗？should的用法should用于构成将来时是助动词。should用于表示“应当”“猜测”是情态动词例如：We thought we should never see you again.我们以为再也见不到你了。（构成一般过去将来时，助动词） I should write some letters tonight.今晚我得写几封信。（表“应当”，情
8、态动词） They should be there by now.他们现在可能到了。（表“猜测”，情态动词） would的用法 would是will的过去式，Would you？作为情态动词，表示“可以请你吗？” would的用法（请记住以下几个句型） Would you have a cup of tea？ 可以请你喝杯茶吗？ (1) Would you？和Will you？ 这两个句型皆表示客气的请求、劝说，但Would you？更客气些。 Would you tell me the way to the station？ 劳驾，您能告诉我去车站怎样走吗？ （回答同Will you？句型）
9、 (2)主语+would like to 表示“想要”的意思上，与want to意思一 样，但用此句型较客气。 I want to ask you a question. =Id（I would）like to ask you a question. 我想问你一个问题。 (3) Would you like？ 表示请求、劝说，是很客气的说法。 Would you like a cup of tea？ 您愿意喝杯茶吗？ Would you like to sing a song？ 请唱首歌好吗？ 课后篇：总结与反思，提炼精华1.
