1、*-otheranotherothers.theothers.the other的用法和区别other及其变化形式在初中教材中多次出现，而且它的变化形式很多，有以下几种： the other, others, the others, another 等。它们的用法现归纳如下；l.other可作形容词或代词，做形容词时，意思是 别的，其他工泛指其他的(人或物)”。如：Do you have any other question(s)?你还有其他问题吗？Ask some other people.问问别人吧！Put it in your other hand.把它放在你另一只手里。2.the ot
2、her指两个人或物中的一个时，只能用 the other,不能用 another ，此时的other 作代词。如：He has two daughters. One is a nurse, the other is a work er.他有两个女儿，一个是护士，另一个是工人。3.others 是 other 的复数形式，泛指“另外几个”， “其余的 ”。在句中可作主语、宾语。如：Some of us like singing and dancing, others go in for sport s.我们一些人喜欢唱歌和跳舞，其余的从事体育活动。Give me some others, ple
3、ase.请给我别的东西吧！There are no others.没有别的了。4 .the others 意思是 “其他东西，其余的人”。特指某一范围内的“其他的（人或物）”。是 the other 的复数形式。如：Two boys will go to the zoo, and the others will stay at ho me.两个男孩将去动物园，其余的留在家里。the others=the other +复数名词，这在第 2 条中已经有所介绍。5 .another=an+ other， 既可作形容词，也可作代词，只能用于三个或更多的人或物，泛指同类事物中的三者或三者以上的“另一个
4、 ” ，只能代替或修饰单数可数名词。如：I don tlike this one. Please show me another.我不喜欢这一个，请给我看看另一个。I have three daughters. One is a nurse, another is a teache *r and another is a worker.我有三个女儿。一个是护士，另一个是教师，还有一个是工人。else表示 另外的”表示 除此之夕卜,还有"，相当于besides,如:What else can I say?我还能说什么呢？other, the other, another与others
5、用法区别这些不定代词不仅在含义上有单复数之分，而且在用法上有泛指（无the）和特指（有the）之别。其用法区别可归纳如下：1 .指单数时的用法指单数时，若泛指用another，若特指用the other 。如：Give meanother （one）.另外给我一个。Shut the other eye, please.请把另一只眼睛也闭上。2 .指复数时的用法指复数时，若泛指用other（后接复数名词），若特指用the other（ 后 接复数名词）。如：There are other ways of doing it.做这事还有其他的办法。Where have the other stude
6、nts gone?其他学生都到哪里去了 ？3 . other 的用法others永远表示复数意义（且其后不能再接名词）。其用法大致相当于）"other+ 复数名词”，同样地the others 大致相当于"the other+复数名词”。如:Other people Others may not think that way.别的人可能不这样想。He is cleverer than the others the other students in her class.他比班上其他学生聪明。4 . another 的用法another一般只能表单数，且其后接名词也只能接单数
7、名词。但是若其后有数词或few 修饰时，则也可接复数名词。如：We need another few chairs. 我们还需要几把椅子。In another two weeks it'll be finished.再过两个星期就可做完了。5 .与some 连用与 some 对比使用时，用others（ 此时与some 同义）。如：Some say yes, and others say no.有人说对，有人说不对。other后既可接可数名词复数形式又可接不可数名词， 如：可数， other pencils其它的铅笔，other students其他的学生。不可数 other tea另
8、U的/其它的茶，other information另方勺/其它消息。other用法的注意事项：1）泛指另一个用another o 2）一定范围内两人（物），一个用one,另一个用the other。3）一定范围内三者，一个用 one,另一个用 one （another）,第三个 可用the other, a third。4） 一定范围内，除去一部分人/物，剩余的全部用the otherso 5）泛指别的人或物时，用 others当在一定范围内，除去一部分后，剩余部分但不是全部时， 也用 others。other的衍生词the other定指其它的,其后可接可数名词和单数，如：the other
9、 book 另夕卜的本书，the other map 另张地图，其后也可跟可数名词的复数形式，如： the other*flowers 其他的花朵，the other teachers 其它的老师们，还可以接不可数名词，如：the other water 剩下的水，the otherbeer 别的啤酒others 其用法相当于复数名词，此词不能用作定语，表示的意思是 “不具体的某些东西”， 如：Thischemical is poisonous . Others are poisonous , too . ( others = other chemicals ) 但是如果others 前用了
10、the ，则表示具体的别的东西。如：I don t want these books . Please giveme the others .( the others = the other booksanother，another 指另一个，没有固定的范围。比如： this dress isdirty,please change another one for me. 这件裙子脏了，再给我换一件吧。1.other 和 others 均表示不确指意义，其中 other 后可以修饰名词，而 others 后不能再接名词，两者的关系可描述为：others=other+复数名词。如：He never
11、 thinks of others. 他从来不为别人着想。I don t like these books. Show me some others. 我不喜欢这些书，再拿一些给我看。第一句中的others=other people,意为“其他人” “别人”，泛指其他所有人；第二句中的others=other books， 意为 “其他的书”。但是，若要表示确指意义，我们就在other 和 others 前面使用定冠词，同样地，other 后可以修饰名词，而others 后不能再接名词，两者的关系仍然存在the others=the other+ 复数名词。如：I started last i
12、n the race but I soon caught up with the others. 我在赛跑中最后一个起跑，但不久就赶上了其他人。句中的 the others=the other people， 意为“其他人”， 其中的定冠词特指参加赛跑的所有其他人。注意： the other 后除接复数名词外，还可以接单数名词，此时不能用 the others 代替。如：This seat is free; the other seat is taken. 这个座位空着，那个座位有人。2. 常用惯用表达onethe other表示“（两者中的）一个另一个”。如：What I say goes
13、in at one ear and out at the other. 我说话他是一只耳朵进，另一只耳朵出。onethe others表示“（好几个中的）一个其余都 o如:Of their five children, one is in China and the others are abroad.他们有五个小孩，一个在中国，其余的都在国外。注：若为三者，想要表示“一个另一个剩下的一个”，可用one.another.the other the third. ；若为四者，可用one.another.another a third.the other the fourth, the last 。somethe others表示“一些其他一些的”。如：The search party was divided into two groups. Some went to the right, the others went to the left. 搜寻小组一分为二，一部分向右，另一部分人向左。someothers 表示 “有的有的”。 如：Some people build while others destroy. 有些人建设而另一些人则破坏。注：该结构也可说成 some some。如：Some of us agree, some disagree. 我们有些人同意，有些人不同
