My topic is Unit 2 ( Section B 2a-2e) How often do you exercise?I. Teaching material analysisA. Status and F

2、unctions The topic of this section is about free time activities. Its close to the Ssdaily life. Ss must be interested in it. So its important for Ss to master the target language “. percent of the students do something . times a week.” Its a good material for teachers to improve Ss ability of langu

3、age.B. Teaching Key Points & Difficult PointKey points: 1). To master the key vocabulary .2). The target language presented in this unit“. percent of the students do something . times a week.”.Difficult point:To train students how to use the key vocabulary and the target language by reading and writ

4、ing.C. Teaching Goals 1). Language goals: Key vocabulary and the target languageThe Ss should learn some new words and expressions. Meanwhile , they will learn to talk about how often they do something. 2). Ability Goals: To train Ss four basic skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing.) To d

5、evelop Ss communicative competence 3). Moral Goals: Motivate my Ss to learn to talk about how often they do something. It can build up the friendship between the Ss , develop the Ssgood habits of exercise and help them keep fit.II.Analysis of Teaching Methods Use Task-based Teaching methods, “5p” Te

6、aching methods and Multi-media Teaching methods. I decide to use “5p” teaching methods to present knowledge ,at the same time, some activities are designed to improve Ss skills and communicative competence. And media helps Ss learn new things directly. Its convenient. III. Analysis of Learning Metho

7、dsLets go on with this part. They have already learned the target language in Section A.But for many Ss, speaking ,reading and writing in English are difficult, so practicing is more important.IV. Teaching procedures1.Warming-up: 1). Greet the ss. 2). 2a / After the oral review ,Ill show some pictur

8、es of different kinds of free time activities .Divide the students into three teams(e.g. Lions/Tigers/Monkeys) and let them have a guessing game competition .Let them call out “.team ,come on!” Ill lead to the new lesson. Good start is half done. Its not only to improve Ss interests but also to prep

9、are for Ss studying new lesson.2. Presentation (1) New words 1).Do a survey-What do you do in your free time, (A) exercise, (B ) use of the Internet or (C) watching TV? Ill let them give their hands up. No doubt, C is least. Ill ask “What activity (do you think) is healthy for the mind and the body

10、?” (Ss: exercise) In this way, present the new words(mind/body). Then Ill say “ Yes. But ninety percent of the students watch television or go online every day. This is the result.”In this way, present the new words(percent/ television /online/result). 2).Then Ill say “ Although its good to relax by

11、 using the Internet or watching TV , I think the best way to relax is through exercise. So lets exercise together. Lets do exercise such as . Please remember “ Old habits die hard” , so start exercising quickly. What does the writer think of it? Lets come to the reading.”In this way, present the new

12、 words( although/through /together/ such as/die/writer). Im sure this way is easy for ss to understand and helps them to use the words in the sentences. Its helpful for the following reading.Above all,its pre-reading.3. Presentation (2)During the reading,Ill let the students learn “first fast readin

13、g ,to get the main idea. Then read carefully ,to master the target language.”At the same time,Ill let the three teams answer questions actively to motivate my Ss to learn English.1) .2b/fast reading Let them answer two questions. 2). 2b/read carefully and complete the pie chart.4. I design some exercises and homework for ss to do. So they can have a good consolidation of the words and the target language.V. B

16、lackboard Design Now on the screen is my blackboard design:Ill use the red chalk to write the important points. Its clear and helpful for the Ss to focus on them.VI. Valuation1. Encourage and praise my students whenever they perform well. 2. valuate the Ss in different steps: teacher to student, students to students, group to group, Ss actions in and homework after class.VII. Teaching Observation 1.see if most Ss can memorize the new words and expressions2.see if most Ss can use the target language to communicate with each other
