1、Unit 5 Art worldStudy skills教学目标能根据上下文猜测单词意思教学步骤Step I 导入1引入本课时的主题,教师问学生平时是否经常阅读英语材料:Do you often read English newspapers or novels? If theres a new word that you dont know, what do you do? Do you look it up in the dictionary or guess its meaning?2 告诉学生,在阅读中遇到生词时,可以通过上下文猜测生词的意思。教师说: Sometimes we can

2、 guess the meaning of a new word from the context.Step II 呈现1教师讲解课本第75页上半部分的说明,告诉学生可以通过生词前后的内容来猜 测生词的意思。教师说:When we come across a new word, sometimes we dont need to look it up in the dictionary. The sentence itself might give the meaning of the word. When we look at the words before and after the n

3、ew word, it is possible to find its meaning.2 向学生解释课本上的例句。补充练习,让学生说出划线部分单词的英文或中文意 思,如:(1)If you agree, write Yes”; if you dissent, write No, (disagree)(2)He wants to find some books on phonetics, the study of the sounds of language.(语音学)(3)Can you see the fanlight, the small window above the door?(气

4、窗)Step III学生独立完成A部分的练习。教师在教室里巡视,对能力较弱的学生进行指导。全班核对答案。Step IV呈现1让学生阅读课本第75页下半部分的说明,如学生有不懂的地方可以举手提问,教 师解答疑问。2教师告诉学生,如果上下文没有给出生词的意思,还可以通过判断生词的词性, 以及其他单词在句中的用法来猜测生词的意思。Step V 操练1学生两人一组,讨论并完成B部分的练习。教师在教室里巡视,给予学生适当的 指导和帮助。2挑选四个学生说出答案,全班核对。3补充练习,让学生根据上下文猜测单词的意思:(1) Although Jane and Lisa are very close frie
