3、tent of medium.The purpose of this standard is to classify the toxicity hazard and explosion risk extent of chemical medium ( including raw material, final product, semi-product, intermediate, reaction liquid, reaction by-product and impurity etc.) used or stored in chemical pressure vessels and def

4、ine the type and the technical requirements of seal and leak tightness of pressure vessels.2 Quoted StandardsGB 5044-85Graduation of Occupational Contact Toxicity Hazard ExtentSupervision Regulations for Safety Technology of Pressure Vessels issued by the Ministry of Labor (1990) ( Hereinafter refer

5、red to as “Vessel Regulations”)3 Principles of Classification 3.0.1 The toxicity hazard and explosion risk extent of chemical medium defined in this standard refers to the seriousness of hazard resulted from the contact of medium with human body in large quantity in accident and explosion or occupat

6、ional chronic hazard due to frequent leakage of pressure vessels in the course of production.3.0.2 The toxicity hazard extent of chemical medium is classified on the basis of 6 item graduation targets ( For details, please see Appendix A Basis for Graduation of Toxicity Hazard Extent ) stipulated in

7、 GB 5044.The toxicity hazard can be classified into 3 classes of extreme hazard, very hazard and medium hazard ( Note 1 ) according to the hazard extent.3.0.3 Where it is used to determine the class of pressure vessel, the toxicity hazard extent classification shall be based on accident state and th

8、e hazard resulted from the contact of medium with human body in large quantity. Therefore, this standard makes the classification after the comprehensive analysis and overall balance is made on the principles of taking 2 targets of acute toxicity and allowable max. concentration as key points and al

9、so including the other targets. Table 3.0.3-1 table 3.0.3-3 give the frequently used chemical media of extreme hazard, very hazard and medium hazard.3.0.4 Where it is used to determine the technical requirements of seal and leak tightness of chemical pressure vessels, the potential chronic hazard re

10、sulted from the frequent leakage shall be considered in addition to the accident state. Therefore, the classification shall be made after making the comprehensive analysis and overall balance on the principles of taking 3 targets of acute toxicity, allowable max. concentration and carcinogenesis as

11、key points and also including the other targets. For some media, the classification shall be based on certain major hazard extent ( such as: carcinogenesis ). For this reason, the class of a few of media listed in table 3.0.3-1 table 3.0.3-3 has been adjusted. For details, please see the notes in th

12、e tables.3.0.5 Classify the explosion risk media ( Note 2 ) according to the stipulations of the Supervision Regulations for Safety Technology of Pressure Vessels issued by the Ministry of Labor.Explosion risk medium refers to the medium, of which the gas or the vapor, mist of its liquid can mix wit

13、h air to generate explosion compound with its explosion lower limit 10 % or the difference between its upper explosion limit and its lower explosion limit20 %.For details, please see table 3.0.5.3.0.6 where several chemical media are involved in use, the one with the highest toxicity hazard or explo

14、sion risk extent in the composition of media shall be considered; where the content of a certain hazard substance in the medium is very small, it shall be comprehensively considered according to its hazard extent and its content and its class shall be decided by the process design department of desi

15、gn unit or the production & technology department of user according to the classification principles of this standard.3.0.7 The chemical media not listed in this standard shall be classified according to the above classification principles and with the reference to the class of similar medium.Table
