19、nal health and safety management (OHSM) systems have both a long and a short story. They can be traced back to early developments before the Second World War, such as the Safety First movement (Heinrich, 1931), the rise of system thinking (in the 1980s), and the subsequent development of management

20、systems in large firms such as DuPont (Hopkins, 2006). At the same time, the history is fairly short. It was only in the 1990s that OHSM systems developed into models which found more widespread use. Two developments were vital in this respect:Regulatory developments as legislation started to requir

The International Labour Organisation also published its OSHM System Guidelines in 2001 (ILO, 2001).【出处】Elsevier Science【原文】该数据库提供了全

The result is evident in firms high accident rates. This situation is a consequence of the general belief among firms that investing in safety is a c

The current work aims to identify good practices in safety management, and analyse the effect of these practices on a set of indicators of organisational performance. For this, we first carry out an exhaustive literature review, an

The contribution devotes considerable time to organization-level OHS practices used in manufacturing companies today (i.e., risk prevention, work reorganization, and health promotion

In doing so, it is appropriate to compare safety culture and climate two separate but related concepts pertaining to workers perceptions of the attitudes and commitment of top management toward worker safety. The last section summarizes a newer approach toward achieving occupational safety that i

The final section also evaluates the impact on OHS of other modern organizational practices (i.e., high-performance work systems and lean manufacturing). The conclusion is that, as more and more firms today transform the manufacturing pro

The tool consists of indicators and grids to assess activities that are important for fresh produce, and the system output in terms of microbiological and chemical food safety (that is, pesticide residues a
