2、. 4.1.2 Condition the specimens at 23C 2C and 65% 5% RH for 24 hours. 4.1.3 Subject components to 80C for 2 hours to simulate the maximum environment liable to be encountered during on - wheels paint repair. 4.1.4 Condition components at 23C 2C and 65% 5% RH for 2 hours prior to subjecting them to t

3、hree cycles of the environmental test schedule defined in Table 1. 4.2 UV Exposure When specified by a U suffix (see clause 6.1) components shall be assessed for light fastness. This shall be performed on samples currently undergoing testing and should be carried out at the end of Cycle 1 and before

4、 the start of Cycle 2. Light fastness shall be assessed in accordance with clauses 4.3 to 4.5. For those components that are too large to fit into the UV equipment (see clause 2.4) fresh samples of their constituent materials shall be tested separately. Assessments should be made on the materials st

5、ability to UV light from tests performed. 8、ponents shall be tested and assessed for colour fastness to light in accordance with MGR ES.30.AA.101. 4.4 Interior components located directly below glass (i.e. requiring testing to both MGR ES.30.EE.102 and MGR ES.30.EE.105) shall be tested and assessed for colour fastness to light in accordance w

9、ith MGR ES.30.CF.005. 4.5 Interior components not located directly under glass shall be tested and assessed for colour fastness in accordance with MGR ES.30.AA.101: Method 2 except that the UV radiation shall be further filtered by a sheet of clear toughened window glass as fitted to the production

10、vehicle, and the exposure period terminated after 72 hours. 5 In-Service Temperature & UV Exposure 5.1 The temperature which a component/material is required to withstand in service depends on vehicle design and component location. This shall be determined by MG Rover Group Materials Engineering and

11、 defined on the engineering drawing in accordance with clause 6.1. In-service temperatures are shown in Appendix 1, Table 2. 5.2 UV exposure tests shall be carried out on those components/materials normally exposed to light and shall be specified, when required, by means of a U suffix shown in claus

13、e component shall be endorsed with the reference for this Standard followed by the in-service temperature and, if required, a U suffix. For example MGR ES.30.EE.102/90U if the component is normally exposed to light and 90C is the maximum temperature to which will be subjected in service. 6.2 The Eng

14、ineering drawing shall identify any allowable dimensional or other changes. 7 Requirements 7.1 Temperature and Humidity There shall be no evidence of distortion, cracking, crazing, colour change or dimensional change on the component/material after stoving and after each test cycle unless otherwise

15、stated. The criteria for acceptance of changes in optical properties subject to legal requirements shall be as defined in the appropriate Standard. 7.2 UV Exposure There shall be no change of shade worse than grey scale 4 (min) or any other deleterious effect such as cracking, chalking etc. Any off-

16、tone fade will also be cause for rejection.
