46、cified in this International Standard shall be as follows: specific gravity; heating loss; residue on sieve; pH; melting point; solidifying point; softening point; bulk density; ash content; refractive index. 5 Common matters 5.1 Thermometer The thermometer (bar) shall be calibrated and chosen accor
47、ding to the intended purpose. It may be in accordance with ISO 1770. The thermometer (bar) shall have an accuracy corresponding to the number of significant figures of the data or it shall be of higher accuracy. It shall be subject to instrumental-error verification 5.2 Instructions for carrying out
48、 the tests Care shall be taken to comply with the items listed below when carrying out the tests; a) Tests shall generally be carried out at room temperature and the measurements shall be carried out immediately after the procedure, unless otherwise specified. For a test on which temperature can hav
49、e a special effect, the procedure shall be carried out at the specified temperature; b) The pressure reduction in the desiccator shall not be more than 2,0 kPa, unless otherwise specified; c) For counting the number of drops, use an apparatus that can let water fall by 0,9 g to 1,1 g in mass when 20 drops fall at 20 C; d) The
