To recognize this diversity, a sectional classification system has been established. Closer Holder

9、Release Devices is one such section and this Standard is the result of the collective efforts of members of the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association, Inc., who manufacture these products. The total Product Standards effort is, therefore, a collection of sections, each covering a specific cate

With this in mind, the Association plans to update, correct and revise these Standards on a regular basis. The BHMA numbers which indicate type of hard

15、ibed in this Standard are performed under laboratory conditions. In actual usage, results vary because of installation, maintenance and environmental conditions. 1.3 Instructions shall be included with the product requiring the end users to, (1) test the product after installation in accordance with

16、 the manufacturers criteria, (2) periodically test the products in conjunction with the fire alarm system and, (3) maintain the door closing system in working order. 2. DEFINITIONS 2.1 Adjustable Backcheck: A cushioning feature of a door closer becoming effective between 60 and 85 degrees of door op

20、manual adjustment. (Consult manufacturers catalogs for ranges of hold-open points available.) 2.7 Single-Point Hold-Open: A hold-open device holding the door open in one selective position. 3. GENERAL 3.1 These products shall allow swinging doors to close upon receiving a signal in fire or smoke eme

21、rgencies. 3.2 Upon activation by a signal to the hold-open or free swinging release device, the door shall become self- closing. 3.3 These products shall have been tested and listed for use on fire door assemblies by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) and shall be under a follow-up in

22、-plant inspection service. 3.4 Electrical wiring of these products shall be in accordance with the National Electrical Code (ANSINFPA 70) for the appropriate class of circuit. 5 Values. Required values in this Standard are expressed in U.S. units. SI (metric) unit equivalents are 4 proximate. All va

Force required to overcome friction or out-of-balance condition shall be a 1/4 lbf (1.1 N) or less throughout the test measured perpendicular to the face of the

36、door at a point 30 in (762 mm) from pivot center. Forces required to overcome friction or out of balance conditions are permitted to be greater than a 1/4 lbf (1.1 N) if acceptable to closer manufacturer. Top jamb mounting shall be 2 in f 1/8 in (51 f 3 mm) reveal. Actuating: Means for mechanically

In closers with adjustable spring power, set closing force to the closest increment equal to or greater than 5 lbf (22 N). 6.4.3 Test: Open the door beyond the 3 in (76 mm) line drawn on the floor. Holding the door open with a force gauge

47、allow the door to close slowly under the power of the door closer as the door travels between the 3 in (76 mm) and 1/2 in (12.7 mm) marks and record the force. It shall equal or exceed a 5 lbf (22 N). Requirements of 6.4.2 and 6.4.3 are permitted to be waived provided the closing mechanism is capabl
