This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 2004, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by December 2004. EN 13000:2004 (E) 6 Introduction This European Standard is a type C standard as stated in EN 1070. This European Standard has been prepared to provide one means for mobile cranes to conform with th
38、e essential health and safety requirements of the Machinery Directive. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are indicated in the scope of this document. When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated i
39、n type A or B standards, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard. EN 13000:2004 (E) 7 1 Scope This European Standard is applicable to the desi
40、gn, construction, installation of safety devices, information for use, maintenance and testing of mobile cranes as defined in ISO 4306-2 with the exception of loader cranes (see 3.1.1 of EN 12999:2002). Examples of mobile crane types and of their major parts are given in annex A and B. This standard
41、 does not cover hazards related to the lifting of persons. NOTE The use of mobile cranes for the lifting of persons is subject to specific national regulations. Mobile cranes covered by this European Standard are designed for a limited number of stress cycles and particular properties of motions, e.
42、 g. smooth application of the driving forces and loading conditions according to ISO 4301-2: group A1. For a duty cycle such as grab, magnet or similar work, additional provisions are required which are outside the scope of this European Standard. The hazards covered by this European Standard are id
