19、 that the locking wire holes in an element of connection are of sufficient strength to meet normal usage. It shall be used together with EN 2591-100. 2Normative references This European Standard incorporates by dated or undated reference provisions from other publications. These normative references

EN 2591-100Aerospace series Elements of electrical and optical connection Test methods Part 100: General 1) 3Preparation of specimens 3.1The specimen shall be coupled to a connector or simulation thereof, which in turn shall be mounted on a rigid mou
22、nting plate. Locking wire as specified in 5, or in the technical specification, shall be threaded through a locking wire hole and secured to permit the application of an axial load. When there are several holes the one which shows the most unfavourable mechanical strength conditions shall be tested.
23、 3.2Unless specified in the technical specification the following details shall be stated: material and gauge of the locking wire, if other than as specified in 5.1; axial load if other than as specified in 5.1. 4Apparatus A suitable means of measuring an applied axial load. 5Method 5.1An axial load
24、 of (133 0,5) N shall be applied perpendicular to the axis of the hole using a stainless steel wire 0,5 mm diameter (see figure 1). It shall be increased steadily until the specified value is reached; its rate of application shall not exceed 45 N/s. It shall be maintained for 5 min. 1) Published as

The specimen shall not be damaged by the
26、test wire i.e. no tearing open of the material from the bore of the hole to the outer surface of the component. Small deformations of the knife edge are permissible.
