19、IDEO) Part 4: Video subcode (VSC) 1 General 1.1 Scope This part of IEC 60843 specifies a method of auxiliary data recording and playback with the IEC 60843 8 mm video system. This part is applicable to both 525 line 60 field and 625 line 50 field television systems. 1.2 Normative references The foll

20、owing normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this part of IEC 60843. For dated references, subsequent amendments to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this part of IEC 60843

21、 are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. IEC 60461:1986, Time and control code for video tape recorders IEC 60843 (all parts), Helical-scan video tape cassette system using 8 mm magnetic tape 2 Area allocation and dimensions 2.1 Types of video subcode (VSC) There are two types of VSC which are 1 block VSC and 5 block VSC. 2.2 1 block V

23、SC Figure 1 shows the recording area of 1 block VSC. The recording area of 1 block VSC shall be specified by the head switching point. All of the data area, search mark and erase code should be recorded. 2.3 5 block VSC 2.3.1 5 block VSC with PCM audio Figure 2 shows the recording area of 5 block VS

24、C with PCM audio. The recording area of 5 block VSC with PCM audio shall be specified by the distance from the head switching point. 25、mark and erase code should be recorded. The erase code should have a variable length relative to the position of PCM data area. 2.3.2 5 block VSC without PCM audio Figure 3 shows the recording area of 5 block VSC without PCM audio. The recording area of 5 block VSC without PCM audio shall be specifi

26、ed by the distance from the head switching point. All of the data area, search mark and erase code should be recorded. 3 Data structure 3.1 1 block VSC Figure 4 shows the data area of 1 block VSC. 1 block VSC consists of a block named Block 4. Block 4 is common to 5 block VSC and 1 block VSC. 3.2 5

27、block VSC Figure 5 shows the data area of 5 block VSC. 5 block VSC has an extended data area from Block 0 to Block 3. 4 Channel coding 4.1 Modulation The modulation method shall be a bi-phase mark, except for the synchronization code. 4.2 Transmission rate The transmission rate shall be 368 times th

28、e horizontal sync frequency, 5,79 Mbit/s for the 525 line 60 field system and 5,75 Mbit/s for the 625 line 50 field system. 4.3 Erase code The erase code shall be all “1”. 4.4 Search mark The data sign of the search mark shall be all “0” for enable. Table 1 shows the recording condition of the search mark. 4.5 Synchronization code Figure 6 shows the synchronization code. The synchronization co

30、de indicates the start position of each CRC block. 4.6 End mark The end mark shows the end of the data area. The end mark consists of 12 successive synchronization codes. 5 Data contents 5.1 Block Table 2 shows the contents of the block. A block consists of the synchronization code, five words and t

31、he CRC code. Blocks from Block 0 to Block 3 shall be used with 5 block VSC only. Block 4 is common to 5 block VSC and 1 block VSC. 5.2 Word Table 3 shows the contents of the word. Word 0 shows the mode which indicates a category of data code. Words from Word 1 to Word 4 consist of the data code for

32、the mode. 5.3 CRC code and error detection The error detection system shall be based on the CRC method. The CRC block consists of five words and the CRC code. The CRC code contains 8 bits and its generator polynomial G(x) shall be as follows: MSB LSB G(x) = ?8 + 1 (preset “11001100“) 5.4 Mode Table

34、he time code shall be recorded on all the tracks if it is not necessary to record other data. If other data are recorded, by replacing some of the time code data, the time code shall be recorded at least by the pattern specified in 6.1.2. 6.1.2 Recording patterns Tables 5 and 6 show the recording co

35、nditions of the time code. 6.2 Recording date/Recording time 6.2.1 Basic recording rules The recording date/recording time shall be recorded on the specific track simultaneously with the time code. The recording date and the recording time shall be recorded simultaneously. 6.2.2 Recording patterns T

36、ables 7 and 8 show the recording conditions of the recording date/recording time. 6.3 Video control code The contents shall be indicated in accordance with clause A.4. 6.3.1 Recording rules The video control code shall be recorded on the same track as the other data. Both video control code and time

37、 code shall be recorded. For pre-recorded tape, the video control code shall be recorded on the track on which the next chapter code is permitted to be recorded. 6.3.2 Recording length Table 9 shows the recording length of the video control code. 6.4 Pre-recorded tape modes 6.4.1 Contents of mode Pr

38、e-recorded tape can deal with four modes: the present chapter, the next chapter, the pre- recorded tape ID and the total time/total chapter numbers in addition to the time code. The “time code” shows the time elapsed in the active programme. The “present chapter” shows the chapter number at the tape

39、 position and the time elapsed in the chapter. The “pre-recorde

40、d tape ID” indicates the pre-recorded tape. The “total time/total chapter number” shows the total chapter number and the time elapsed in the active programme. 6.4.2 Basic recording rules All the data should be recorded according to the rules shown in tables 10 and 11. The present chapter and the nex

41、t chapter shall be recorded in pairs. The pre-recorded tape ID and the total data shall be recorded in pairs. The time code and the chapter number of the present chapter are mandatory. The time code shall be based on a non-drop frame sequence. The length of each chapter shall be more than 2 min. 6.4

42、.3 Recording patterns Tables 10 and 11 show the recording patterns of pre-recorded tape.
