3、 0 580 28054 3 National foreword This British Standard is the English language version of EN 60335-2-80:1997. It is identical with IEC 60335-2-80:1997. It supersedes BS 3456-102.342:1988 which is withdrawn. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted by Technical Committee CPL/61, Safety o

4、f electrical appliances, which has the responsibility to: aid enquirers to understand the text; present to the responsible international/European committee any enquiries on the interpretation, or proposals for change, and keep the UK interests informed; monitor related international and European dev

5、elopments and promulgate them in the UK. A list of organizations represented on this committee can be obtained on request to its secretary. From 1 January 1997, all IEC publications have the number 60000 added to the old number. For instance, IEC 27-1 has been renumbered ad IEC 60027-1. For a period

6、 of time during the change over from one numbering system to the other, publications may contain indentifiers from both systems. This European Standard supersedes HD 280 S1:1986 and HD 280.3 S1:1990. The following dates are applicable: For products which have compli

20、ed with HD 280 S1:1986 and HD 280.3 S1:1990 before 2000-04-01, as shown by the manufacturer or by a certification body, these previous standards may continue to apply for production until 2005-04-01. This standard has to be used in conjunction with EN 60335-1, Safety of household and similar electri

21、cal appliances, Part 1: General requirements. It was established on the basis of the 1994 edition of that standard. Amendments and revisions of part 1 have also to be taken into account and the dates when such changes become applicable will be stated in the relevant amendment or revision of part 1.

22、This part 2 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses of EN 60335-1, so as to convert it into the European Standard: Safety requirements for electric fans. When a particular subclause of part 1 is not mentioned in this part 2, that subclause applies as far as is reasonable. When this standar

23、d states “addition”, “modification” or “replacement”, the relevant text of part 1 is to be adapted accordingly. Subclauses which are additional to those in part 1 are numbered starting with 101. There are no special national conditions causing a deviation from this European Standard, other than thos

24、e listed in Annex ZA to EN 60335-1. There are no national deviations from this European Standard, other than those listed in Annex ZB to EN 60335-1. 31、single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. NOTE 1Examples of fans which are within the scope of this standard are: ceiling fans; table fans; pedestal fans; partition fans; duct fans. This standard also applies to separate controls provided with the fans. Fans not intended for normal hou

32、sehold use but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as fans intended for use in shops, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this standard. So far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliances which are encountere

33、d by all persons in and around the home. This standard does not in general take into account the use of appliances by young children or infirm persons without supervision; playing with the appliance by young children. NOTE 2Attention is drawn to the fact that for appliances intended to be used in ve

34、hicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary; in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour and similar authorities. NOTE 3This standard does not apply to

35、 appliances intended exclusively for industrial purposes; appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas); fans incorporated in other appliances, unless otherwise specified in the relevant

36、 standard. 2 Definitions This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows. 2.2.9 Replacement: normal operation operation of the appliance under the following conditions table and pedestal fans are operated with any oscillating mechanism in operation ceiling fans are fixed to a ceiling partition

37、 fans are installed in the centre of a suitable partition having dimensions at least four times the diameter of the air inlet duct fans are installed in a duct in accordance with the instructions for installation, the length of the duct being approximately four times the diameter of the fan 3 Genera

38、l requirement This clause of part 1 is applicable. 4 General conditions for the tests This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows. 4.7 Addition: For fans intended to be used in tropical climates, the tests of clauses 10, 11 and 13 are carried out at an ambient temperature of 40 C 2 C. 5 Vo

39、id 6 Classification This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows. 6.2 Addition: Duct fans shall be at least IPX2. 6.101 Fans shall be of one of the following classes with respect to climatic conditions: fans for temperate climates; fans for tropical climates. 7 Marking and instructions This

40、 clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows. 7.1 Addition: Fans for tropical climates shall be marked with the letter “T”. 7.12.1 Addition: The instructions for installation shall state the model or type reference of luminaires which may be installed in fans which are constructed for this purp

41、ose; for partition fans, if the fan is intended for mounting in outside windows or walls; for fans intended to be mounted at high level, that the fan is to be installed so that the blades are more than 2, 3 m above the floor; for duct and partition fans, that precautions must be taken to avoid the b

42、ack-flow of gases into the room from the open flue of gas or other pen-fire appliances. 8 Protection against access to live parts This clause of part 1 is applicable. 43、3-1999 9 Starting of motor-operated appliances This clause of part 1 is not applicable. 10 Power input and current This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows. 10.1 Addition: Fans incorporating shutters or similar devices are tested with these in the open position. 10.2 Addition: Fans inco

44、rporating shutters or similar devices are tested with these in the open position. 11 Heating This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows. 11.7 Replacement: Fans are operated until steady conditions are established. 11.8 Addition: The temperature rise limits for fans for tropical climates a

45、re reduced by 15 K. 12 Void 13 Leakage current and electric strength at operating temperature This clause of part 1 is applicable. 14 Void 15 Moisture resistance This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows. 15.1.1 Addition: The outer part of fans intended to be mounted in outside windows a

46、nd walls is subjected to the test of 14.2.4 of IEC 60529, the part of the fan which is not mounted on the outside of the window or wall being protected against spray from the oscillating tube. The fan is tested at rest and then supplied at rated voltage and operated with the shutters or similar devi

47、ces in the open position. Duct fans are subjected to the test of 14.2.2 of IEC 60529 at rest and then in operation while supplied at rated voltage. 16 Leakage current and electric strength This clause of part 1 is applicable. 17 Overload protection of transformers and associated circuits This clause

48、 of part 1 is applicable. 18 Endurance This clause of part 1 is not applicable. 19 Abnormal operation This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows. 19.1 Addition: Fans incorporating shutters or similar devices operated by a control are also subjected to the test of 19.101. 19.7 Addition: Se

49、parate controls are mounted on a dull-black painted plywood board. Approximately 50 % of the area of each ventilating opening is blocked. The temperature of windings shall not exceed the values of Table 6 and the temperature of the board shall not exceed 90 C. 19.9 Not applicable. 19.101 Fans incorporating shutters or similar devices which are operated automatically are supplied at rated voltage and operated with the shutters or similar devices held in the closed or open position, whichever is more unfavo
