11、poration of User Feedback through 2005. IEEE Std 497-2002 was developed to provide a performance-based approach to accident monitoring system design and design basis. This standard was intended to be useful to both new generations of nuclear plant design, and older plants performing accident monitor
12、ing system upgrades and evaluations. This corrigendum incorporates user feedback and improves the usefulness of the standard by making the following seven improvements to IEEE Std 497-2002: 1) The corrigendum incorporates changes from the 2003 errata, which were to restore outline boxes to Figure 1.
13、 2) In 4.4 and 4.5, the corrigendum clarifies that Type D and Type E variables provide primary information to the CR operators to be consistent with variable Types A, B, and C. This change is to eliminate potential confusion that all instruments used for monitoring safety system performance are requ
14、ired for Type D, or that all instruments used to determining the magnitude of release are used for Type E. 3) In 5.5, the corrigendum deletes the unnecessary requirement for qualitative goals. A quantitative goal has already been required. 4) In item d) of 6.3, the corrigendum changes “10CFR100” to
15、the more appropriate reference “10 CFR 50 Appendix A.” 5) In 6.7, the corrigendum changes “Means shall be provided for maintaining instrument calibration.” to “Means shall be provided for validating instrument calibration.” to accurately reflect the action involved. 6) In 6.12, the corrigendum chang
16、es “practical extent” to “extent practical” for clarity. 7) The corrigendum incorporates changes from the 2003 errata, which were to restore outline boxes per the balloted version, and correct “Channel D” to “Channel B” in Figure 2. The editing instructions are shown in b

The editing instruction specifies the location of the change and describes what is being changed by using strikethrough (to remove old material) and und

If so, renumbering instructions are given in the editing instruction. Replace is used to make changes in figures or equations by rem

Editorial notes will not be carried over into future editions because the changes will be incorporated into the base standard. 1 Copyright 2007 IEEE. All rights reserved.
