10、l Standard specifies YOKUYO towels( ? ) (hereafter, Note (?) Remarks : The YOKUYO towels are defined as the towels used mainly at the time of taking bath or face washing. Classification The towels shall be classified into three classes as given in the following, (1) No. 1 (2

13、) No. 2 (3) No. 3 675 g/12 sheets or over to under 7-50 g/12 sheets 750 g/12 sheets or over to under 900 g/12 sheets 900 g/12 sheets or over to under 1 12-5 g/12 sheets 3 Performances 3.1 Colour fastness 3.1.1 Colour fastness to washing and laundering The colour fastness to washing and laundering, w

14、hen tested in accordance with 6.1.1, shall be grade 4 or over in change in colour and grade 3 or over in staining. 3.1.2 The colour fastness to rubbing, when tested in accor- dance with 6.1.2, shall be dry rubbing grade 4 or over and wet rubbing grade 3 or over. However, in the case of the deeply co

15、loured towels (?) which have been dyed with dye stuffs, it shall be dry rubbing grade 3 or over, and be wet rubbing grade 2 - 3 or over, and in the case of the deeply colured towels with the pigment print, it shall be dry rubbing grade 3 or over, and be wet rubbing grade 2 or over. 17、hall be defined as those difference of colour between the towel and the (standard adjacent cotton fabrics) specified in of grade 1 or under, when the standard adjacent fabrics No.3 JIS L 0803 is compaired, in accordance with the method specified in the assessment of staining of 9 (3) of JIS L 0801.

18、3.2 The shrinkage percentage, when tested in accordance with 6.2, shall be 3 % or under in the warp and 3 % or under in the weft. However, in the case of the bleached towels, these shall be within TE % in the warp and within ? : % in the weft. Shrinkage percentage 3.3 Water absorbency The water abso

19、rbency of towels, when tested in accordance with 6.3, shall be five seconds or under in water absorbing velocity. However, as to the samples of exceeding five seconds, if it can be reduced to five seconds or under by processing once with the pretreatment of 6.3, that effect brought by the pretreatme

20、nt shall be additionally stated in the test results. 4 Qualities 4.1 The dimensions of the towel shall be made up as follows. Place the towel on a flat table and remove unnatural wrinkles and tension, measure the width and the length of the towel, round off the measured value to one place of decimal

21、 in accordance with JIS Z 8401, and make up the dimensions 33.5 cm or over to and excluding 35.5 cm in width, and 83 cm or over in length. Dimensions 4.2 Appearance The appearance shall be as given in the following by visual check. (1) The towel shall be free from such defects as weaving flaws, stai

22、n and the like on the weaving process, dyeing speck and the like on the dyeing process, and missing stitch and the like on the sewing operation. (2) The hemming shall be processed with the reverse stitching. (3) The shape of pile shall be uniform. (4) The boundary of the pile texture and other porti

27、t fraying shall have been processed. 5 Material For the material of the towels, the pure cotton yarn shall be used. However, the yarn used for the purposes of decoration and the like, and if its mass is 5 % or under of the total mass, the yarn other than the pure cotton yarn may also be used. 6 Test

28、 methods 6.1 Colour fastness 6.1.1 Colour fastness to washing and laundering It shall be in accordance with No. A- 2 of JIS L 0844. 6.1.2 Colour fastness to rubbing IT of JIS L 0849. It shall be in accordance with the rubbing tester type 6.2 However, the size of test piece shall be in accordance wit

29、h the Fig. 2 of JIS L 1042. Shrinkage percentage It shall be in accordance with the method D of JIS L 1042. 6.3 Water absorbency It shall be in accordance with the sinking method of JIS L 1907. However, when it does not sink after a lapse of 60 seconds or over, it shall be deemed as not to sink. Fur

30、ther, the pretreatment of 3.3 shall be in accordance with the No. A- 1 in 6.1 of JIS L 0844. However, the soap and stainless steel ball shall not be used. 6.4 Mass accordance with JIS Z 8401. Measure the mass of 12 sheets of towels, and calculate to an integer place in 6.5 measuring places shall be

31、three places, and the measuring section shall be 5 cm. Density It shall be in accordance with the 6.6 density of JIS L 1096. However, the 6.6 Length of pile yarn Measure the lengths of pile yarn and foundation warp at an interval of 10 cm at arbitrary three places in lengthwise direction of a towel,

32、 obtain the mean values respectively, and round off to the first decimal place in accordance wiih JIS 2 8401. 6.7 Measure the number of stitches at an interval of 5 cm, at arbitrary three places of the hemming portion and selvage sewing portion respectively, obtain respective mean values, and obtain

33、 to integer places in accordance with JIS Z 8401. Sewing 6.8 Material It shall be in accordance with JIS L 1030. 7 Inspection The inspection of the towels shall be carried out on 3, 4 and 5, and those of which results have conformed to respective items of 3,4 and 5 shall be deemed as acceptable. The

34、 inspection shall be carried out by the 100 % inspection or a reasonable sampling inspection plan.
