Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the aluminium- coated low carbon steel w i r e and the al

5、uminium-coated high carbon steel w i r e s processed by hot-dip coating (hereafter respectively referred t o as iron w i r e s and steel wires). Definitions For the main terms used i n t h i s Standard, the following de f i n i t ions ap p

(i hot-dip aluminium-coated i r o n w i r e s These are uniformly hot-dip aluminium-coated iron w i r e s which have been produced from w i r e rods conformed t o J I S G 3505 by cold working or heat-treatment (annealed). (2) hot-dip aluminium-coated steel wires These are uniformly hot-dip alu

8、minium-coated steel w i r e s which have been produced from w i r e rods conformed t o J I S G 3506 by cold working after heat-treatment (patenting). 3. Wire type, symbol, and applicable w i r e diameter 3.1 Type, symbol, and applicable w i r e diameter of i r o n w i r e s Iron w i r e s s h a l l

Mechanical properties 4.1

13、Tensile strength The tensile strength of iron wires and steel w i r e s s h a l l be as follows. (i) The tensile strength of iron w i r e s s h a l l be subjected t o the test of 10.2, and its tensile strength s h a l l be as given i n Attached Table 1. (2) The t e n s i l e strength of steel w i r

14、e s s h a l l be subjected t o the test of 10.2, and its tensile strength s h a l l be as given i n Attached Table 2. 4.2 Elongation of steel wires subjected t o the test of 10.2, and its value s h a l l be as given i n Attached Table 2. The elongation of steel wires s h a l l be 4.3 Torsion charact

15、eristic The torsion characteristic of iron w i r e s and steel w i r e s s h a l l be as follows. (1) When the torsion characteristic of iron w i r e s is subjected t o the test of 10.3 and rotated t o the torsion number as given i n Attached Table 1, it s h a l l not be ruptured. (2) When the torsi

16、on characteristic of steel wires is subjected to the. test of 10.3 and rotated t o the torsion number as given i n Attached Table 2, it s h a l l not be ruptured. However, the torsion characteristic is not specified for SWHA-3. 5. Aluminium coating characteristics 5.1 Aluminium coating mass and stee

23、be as given i n Attached Table 1. (2) The wire diameter of a steel w i r e s h a l l be measured i n accordance with 10.6, and the tolerance thereon s h a l l be as given i n Attached Table 2. 7. Appearance The appearance of iron wires and steel wires s h a l l be as follows. ( 1 ) The surfaces of i

26、atment (annealed). (2) Iron wires and steel wires, i f necessary, can be processed by surface treatments such as o i l i n g o r the like. 8. Material The materials for iron w i r e s and steel wires s h a l l be as follows. (1) Materials to be used for iron w i r e s s h a l l be w i r e rods confo

27、rming t o the requirements specified i n JIS G 3505. (2) Materials t o be used for steel w i r e s s h a l l be w i r e rods conforming t o the requirements specified i n J I S G 3506. 9. Manufacturing method The manufacturing methods for iron wires and steel wires s h a l l be as given i n Table 5.

29、 torsion test, a winding test, and an aluminium coating mass test from one end of a coil. 10.2 Tensile test The tensile test s h a l l be as follows. (1) The test piece t o be used s h a l l be No.9B test piece specified i n 4. (shape and dimensions of test piece) of JIS Z 2201. (2) The test method

(3) Elongation s h a l l be measured i n accordance with determination o f , elongation a f t e r fracture specified i n 6. determination of the original cross-sectional area of a test piece parallel part, gauge length, yield point , proof stress, tensile

33、ensile test, the test s h a l l be invalidated, and the test s h a l l be carried out again by further sampling the test piece of 10.1 from t h e same coil. Torsion test The torsion test s h a l l be as follows. The length of a test piece s h a l l be, as a rule, 200 mm for iron wires and a length c

34、apable of obtaining the free length of test piece between grips of 100 t i m e s the preferred w i r e diameter for steel wires. For the test method, grip firmly both ends of a test piece at an interval of 200 mm for i r o n w i r e s and at an interval of 100 t i m e s the preferred w i r e diamete

35、r for steelwires. Rotate its one side t o a specific torsion number for iron w i r e s and t o rupture for steel wires while straining t o a degree not t o be sagging. Further, increase or decrease the torsion number when tested outside the grip i n t e r v a l i n (1) i n direct proportion t o t h

36、e grip interval, and convert it t o the number of turns i n t h e case of the grip interval i n (1). When the test piece is ruptured at the grip part and the obtained result does not conform t o the required specification, the test s h a l l be invalidated, and the test s h a l l be carried out agai

37、n by further sampling the test piece of 10.1 from the same coil. 10.4 Aluminium coating mass test (1) The test piece s h a l l be as specified i n J I S H 8672. (2) The test method s h a l l be as specified i n 6.3 sodiumhydroxide- antimony chloride method (indirect method) of J I S H 8672. 10.5 Win

38、ding test The winding test s h a l l be as follows. (1) The test piece s h a l l be of an appropriate length t o bo wound six turns or over on a cylinder as specified i n Attached Table 1 for iron wires and i n Attached Table 2 for steel wires. (2) The test method s h a l l be as specified i n 8.1 (

39、winding test method) of J I S H 8672. However, the cylinder as specified i n Attached Table 1 for i r o n w i r e s and as Attached Table 2 for steel wires s h a l l be used. 10.6 Measurement of w i r e diameter The maximum diameter and the minimum diameter on the same cross section at an optional p

40、osition s h a l l be measured. 11. Inspection The inspection s h a l l be as follows. (1) The mechanical properties s h a l l conform t o the requirements specified i n 4. Unit mass = 5.93 d2 (g/m): This is rounded off t o three significant figures. For intermediate w i r e diameter, each value of the nearest thinner w i r e diameter s h a l l be employed.
