Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the graphical symbols for Note (l) electroplated coating ( 1 , hereinafter referred to as the “coatings“. Coatings by the electroless plating of autocatalytic type are inc

5、luded. 2. Definitions For the purpose of this Standard the following definitions apply. Other terms and definitions are given in JIS H 0400. (1) classification of coatings The coatings classified by the classification of metals and alloys to be used for coatings. example: copper coating, nickel coat

6、ing, chromium coating. (2) constructions of coatings Sequence of a series of coatings to construct the multilayer deposits. (3 Example: Copper, nickel and chromium coatings on ferrous basis material or zinc alloy basis material. types of coatings method, etc. Coatings of the same class different in

7、quality, form, Example 1. Among nickel coatings, the gloss nickel coating containing sulfur deposited from bath added with brightener. Example 2. Dull finished nickel coatings not including sulfur deposited from bath added with smoothing agent. (4) after-treatment Treatment conducted consequently wi

8、th plating. The after-treatment specified specifically in this Standard is limited to the treatment directly related with plating. Example: Outdoor atmosphere strongly corrosive, ordinary indoor atmosphere. 3. Indication of Coati

11、nns with Svmbols The indication of coatings by symbols shall be conducted with using the symbols specified in 4. and shall comply with the sequence as given in (i). However, the sequence as given in (2) may be used for some time, Moreover, the symbols not specially required for indication may be abr

In the case where the coating is constructed by the electroplating and electroless plating and is indicated differently with the symbol specified in (I), indicate the symbol of this fact prior to the symbol of coating by attaching a hyphen. 25、rial and as a note, the symbols of material quality defined in Japanese Industrial Standard on every material and the symbols of working process and condition specified in JIS B 0122 shall be attached. In the case of alloy coating, the e

28、lement symbols of main elements constructing the alloy shall be combined by hyphen (s). Further, in the case where the composition of main alloying elements is especially indicated, it is allowable to show the numerical values of mass percent in ( ) in the rear of every element symbol, Moreover, as

29、for the industrial chromium coating, industrial gold coating, decorative gold coating, etc, it is allowable to put the symbol defined in each Japanese Industrial Standard in front of the element symbol. 34、to Thickness of Coatings case where the standards of coatings have conducted the division into grades according to the thickness of coatings, the symbols of coatings and thickness shall be indicated by the grade divisions.
