、ation JIS E 3014 : 1999 Applicable parts Parts for railway signal - Vibration test methods 1 Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the methods for such general vibration tests (hereafter referred to as “vibration tests“), that signals, relay supports, apparatus boxes, power point machine

、s and equipments and parts to be mounted to rails or the like (hereafter referred to as “parts“) which are in the category of railway signalling equipment are subject to the attachment to a vibration stand. However, those methods are not applicable to signalling equipment to be mounted on vehicle. 1

、. The vibration tests mean resonance test, vibration function test and vibration endurance test. 2. The parts mean the ones which are mounted to structural member such as signals, relay supports, apparatus boxes, power point machines, rails, etc. directly or via cushioning materials or devices. 3. I

、n this Standard, the units and numerical values places in 1 are based on traditional unit system, and appended for information. Remarks 2 Normative reference The following standard contains provisions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute provisions of this Standard. The most recent

、edition of the standard indicated below shall be applied. Glossary of terms of railway signalling JIS E 3013 3 specified in JIS E 3013, the following principal definitions apply. Definitions For the purposes of this Standard, in addition to the definitions a) resonance test b) A test which examines

、whether resonances will occur at specific portion of part or not, and obtain the resonance frequencies, if any. vibration function test A test which examines the functions of part subjected to the prescribed vibration, and compares the functions so obtained with those not subjected to the vibration.

、 vibration endurance test A test which examines the endurance of part to the prescribed vibration. c) 4 the magnitude of vibration given to the part. Classification Vibration tests are classified as stated in Table 1 according to Class 1 Class 2 1 Internal parts of equipment for indoor installation

、in relay room, signal station, etc. Internal parts of such equipment installed on the sides of rail as signal, apparatus box, impedance bond, etc. PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT -,-,- 2 E 3014 : 1999 Classification Class 3 Class 4 Applicable parts Internal parts of such equipments installed on sleepers as p

、ower point machine, electric lock, etc. Such equipments directly connected with rail as tongue rail contact detector, rail joint insulation, etc. 5 As a rule the vibration tests shall be carried out in the sequence of resonance test, vibration function test and vibration endurance test. However, the

、 resonance test and vibration function test may be carried out at the same time. Sequence of tests 6 by the method in the posture almost similar to those in practical service. Mounting of parts The part shall be mounted on the vibration stand as a rule, 7 The vibration function test shall be carried

、 out on the specimen being operated, but unless otherwise specified, the resonance test and the vibration endurance test may be carried out on the specimen under non-operated state. However, in the case of vibration endurance test, operating conditions of the part before test shall be compared with

、those after completion of the test. Operation of parts 8 A simple harmonic motion shall be applied to the part under test in three directions perpendicular each other i.e. up-down, left-right, and front-rear of the mounted part, in an optional sequence. However, a specific direction may be omitted s

The vibration shall be applied to the portion of the tester to which the specimen is mounted to cause the specified acceleration double amplitude or double amplitude (this means the displacement double amplitude). Application of

、vibration 9 Test procedures 9.1 Resonance test The resonance test shall be carried out as follows: a) b) c) Each class test shall be carried out by raising and lowering the frequency continuously through the frequency range specified in Table 2. The rate of frequency change shall be uniform in such

、a degree that the resonance frequency is not overlooked. The time necessary for one round sweep between the minimum frequency and the maximum frequency (e.g. 10 Hz to 150 Hz for class i) shall be made sufficiently long so as the resonance frequency is not overlooked.
