6、ting) in IS0 9956-3, Specificution and approval of welding pro- cedures for metallic materials - Part 3: Welding procedure tests for the arc weld- ing of steels, issued in 1995 as the first edition, without changing the technical contents except the following specification. The parts under which the

7、 dotted lines are drawn are the matters not specified in the original Internatinal Standard. The outline of the difference in the specified contents In the original International Standard, the specimens are specified to be in accordance with IS0 9016, Welding - Welded joints in metallic materials -

8、Speci- men location and notch orientation for impact tests, for dimensions and testing. But IS0 9016 is not published yet, so that the specifications practical in our country at present are set forth in this Standard. 1 Scope test for butt welded joint mainly of steel materials. This Japanese Indust

9、rial Standard specifies the method of impact Remarks: The following standards are cited in this Standard: JIS Z 2202 JIS Z 2242 Test pieces for impact test for metallic materials Method of impact test for metallic materials . . 2 Test pieces sampling is impossible, its subsize test piece may be used

No. 4 test piece specified in JIS Z 2202 shall be used, but if the . 3 Sampling of test pieces (see Fig. 1, Fig. 2 and Fig. 3) Location and direction of test pieces The test piece shall be taken from the location in the depth of 1 mm to 2 mm under the surface of the steel material. If the thicknes

If the thickness of steel material exceeds 50 mm, additional test piece shall be taken from the mid-thickness or in the root area of it

12、s neighbourhood. The direction of the longitudinal axis of the test piece shall be perpendicular to the weld line. 16、 of notch and number of test pieces The position of notch shall be two places that are the center of the weld metal and the heat affected zone 1 mm to 2 mm apart from the bond part. Besides, one more bond part may be added where appropriate to make three places in total. The longitudinal direction o

17、f the notch shall be perpendicular to the surface of the welded joint. The position of notch shall be expressed as VWT (V: Charpy V-notch, W: notch in weld metal, T: notch through the thickness) for the test piece in the center of weld metal, VHT (V: Charpy V-notch, H: notch in heat affected zone, T

18、: notch through the thickness) for the test piece in heat affected zone 1 mm to 2 mm apart from the bond part and VBT (V: Charpy V-notch, B: bond part notch, T: notch through the thickness) for the test piece in bond part. . .
