2、form of a soft wall, smooth bore, collapsing-type hose. 1.2Application: This hose has been used typically for fueling aircraft from tank trucks or pits where the hose will be rolled flat for stowage on a reel, but usage is not limited to such applications. Not recommended for operating pressures hig
3、her than 125 psi (862 kPa). 1.3Safety-Hazardous Materials: While the materials, methods, applications, and processes described or referenced in this specification may involve the use of hazardous materials, this specification does not address the hazards which may be involved in such use. It is the
4、sole responsibility of the user to ensure familiarity with the safe and proper use of any hazardous materials and to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of all personnel involved. 2.APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS: The following publications form a part of this specification t

11、s; Rubber, Plastic, Fabric, or Metal (Including Tubing); and Fittings, Nozzles, and Strainers, Packaging of 3.TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: 3.1Material and Fabrication: 3.1.1Hose: Shall consist of an acrylonitrile butadiene (NBR) rubber inner tube; braided, spiralled, loomed, or plied textile reinforcemen
12、t; and a chloroprene (CR) rubber cover. 3.1.1.1Tube: Shall be fabricated from a compound based on a copolymer of acrylonitrile and butadiene. Thickness of the tube shall be not less than 0.070 inch (1.78 mm). The bore shall be smooth and free from pitting and from objectionable cuttings, borings, an
13、d cements. 3.1.1.2Reinforcement: Shall be well, evenly, and firmly braided, spiralled, loomed, or plied and shall be free from dirt, lumps, and irregularities of twist. 3.1.1.3Cover: Shall be chloroprene (CR) rubber or other types or blends having equivalent resistance to weathering and petroleum pr
14、oducts, and shall be free from pitting. Thickness shall be not less than 0.070 inch (1.78 mm). 3.2Properties: Hose shall conform to requirements shown in Table 1, 3.2.3, 3.2.4, 3.2.5, and 3.2.6; tests shall be performed on the hose supplied and, except as otherwise specified herein, in accordance wi
15、th ASTM D 380, insofar as practicable. 16、e: Specimens cut from hose shall not burst, leak, or develop blisters in the cover when subjected to a pressure of 500 psi (3447 kPa). 3.2.4Change in Length Under Pressure: Hose shall not change in length by more than 7% when subjected to a pressure of 200 psi (1379 kPa). 3.2.5Corrosion: The hose sh
17、all not have a corrosive effect on other materials when exposed to conditions normally encountered in service, determined by a procedure agreed upon by purchaser and supplier. Discoloration of metal shall not be considered objectionable. Standards for acceptance shall be as agreed upon by purchaser
18、and supplier. 3.2.6Weather Resistance: When specified, hose shall have weather resistance acceptable to purchaser, determined by a procedure agreed upon by purchaser and supplier. 3.3Quality: Hose, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, smooth, and free from foreign mat
19、erials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the hose. 3.4Standard Sizes, Weights, and Tolerances: Hose shall be furnished in lengths of 50 feet 0.5 (15 m 0.15) and to the dimensions and weights shown in Table 2. Lengths from which samples have been cut may be accepted as full lengths if th

23、e for performing all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the hose conforms to the requirements of this specification. 4.2Classification of Tests: 4.2.1Acceptance Tests: Tests for aromatic fuel resistance (3.2.
24、1), adhesion (3.2.2), burst pressure (3.2.3), and change in length under pressure (3.2.4) are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot. 4.2.2Preproduction Tests: Tests for all technical requirements are preproduction tests and shall be performed prior to or on the initial shipment of hose
25、 by the manufacturer, when a change in ingredients and/or processing requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and when purchaser deems confirmatory testing to be required. 28、ognizant agency as directed by the procuring activity, contracting officer, or request for procurement. 4.3Sampling and Testing: Shall be as follows: 4.3.1For Acceptance Tests: Sufficient hose shall be taken at random from each lot to perform all required tests. The number of determinations for each
29、 requirement shall be as specified in the applicable test procedure or, if not specified therein, not less than three. 4.3.1.1A lot shall be all hose of the same size produced in a single production run from the same batches of raw materials under the same fixed conditions and presented for manufact
30、urers inspection at one time. 4.3.1.2When a statistical sampling plan has been agreed upon by purchaser and manufacturer, sampling shall be in accordance with such plan in lieu of sampling as in 4.3.1 and the report of 4.5 shall state that such plan was used. 4.3.2For Preproduction Tests: As agreed
31、upon by purchaser and manufacturer. 4.4Approval: 4.4.1Sample hose shall be approved by purchaser before hose for production use is supplied, unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Results of tests on production hose shall be essentially equivalent to those on the approved sample. 4.4.2Manufact
32、urer shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures, processes, and methods of inspection on production hose which are essentially the same as those used on the approved sample. If necessary to make any change in ingredients, in type of equipment for processing, or in manufacturing procedures, manu
33、facturer shall submit for reapproval a statement of the proposed changes in ingredients and/or processing and, when requested, sample hose. Production hose made by the revised procedure shall not be shipped prior to receipt of reapproval. 4.5Reports: The supplier of hose shall furnish with each ship
34、ment a report showing the results of tests to determine conformance to the acceptance test requirements and stating that the hose conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS 3386D, manufacturers material designation, size, and qu
35、antity. 36、 in the above tests fails to meet the specified requirements, disposition of the hose may be based on the results of testing three additional specimens for each original nonconforming specimen. Failure of any retest specimen to meet the specified requirements shall be cause for rejection of the hose
37、 represented. Results of all tests shall be reported. 5.PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: 5.1Identification: Each length of hose shall have inlaid at intervals of approximately 25 feet (7.6 m) a label showing not less than the manufacturers name or trademark, date of manufacture (quarter and year), AMS 3386
38、D, working pressure, and lot number. 5.2Packaging: 5.2.1A lot of hose may be packaged in small quantities and delivered under the basic lot approval provided lot identification is maintained. 5.2.2Packaging shall be accomplished to ensure that the hose, during shipment and storage, will be protected
39、 against damage from exposure to weather and any other normal hazard. 5.2.3Packages of hose shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the hose to ensure ca
40、rrier acceptance and safe delivery. 5.2.4For direct U.S. Military procurement, packaging shall be in accordance with MIL-H-775, Commercial Level, unless Level A is specified in the request for procurement. 6.ACKNOWLEDGMENT: A supplier shall mention this specification number and its revision letter i
41、n all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7.REJECTIONS: Hose not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection.
