This edition incorporates technical changes which have been introdu

10、ced into related ISO Standards and other documents which are under consideration by the responsible technical committee. Other changes include (a)updating of reference documents; (b)adoption of the terms clearing saw, brushcutter and grass trimmer to describe the styles of units covered by this Stan

11、dard; and (c)editorial changes in accordance with Standards Australia policy. This Standard does not give recommendations for the safe use of clearing saws, brushcutters and grass trimmers. Guidance for safe working is covered in AS 3576, BrushcuttersGuide to safe working practices. This Standard do

12、es not prescribe specific methods for the measurement of sound power levels for the purpose of hearing conservation programs. 37、smitting power from the transmission shaft to the cutting device. 1.4.3Brushcuttera mechanical hand-held device with a rotating blade made of metal or plastic intended to cut weed, brush, shrubs and similar vegetation (see Figures 1.1 and 1.2). 1.4.4Clearing sawa mechanical hand-held device with a r

38、otating metal saw blade intended to cut brush, shrubs, small trees and similar vegetation (see Figures 1.1 and 1.2). 39、er. 1.4.6Grass trimmera mechanical hand-held device with a rotating cutting head using monofilament line(s) or pivot-mounted plastic blades (see Figures 1.1 and 1.2) 1.4.7Handles 1.4.7.1U handlebicycle type handlebars for manoeuvring the brushcutter. 1.4.7.2J handle one-hand grip for manoeuvringthe

40、brushcutter incorporatinga protection barrier and used in conjunction with a rear handle or grip. 1.4.7.3Loop handle semicircular or delta type handle for manoeuvring the brushcutter and used in conjunction with a rear handle or grip. 1.4.7.4Rear handle or gripsupporting handle or grip located at or

41、 towards the rear mounted on the shaft tube of the brushcutter. 1.4.8Harnessassembly comprising straps or belt or both, by means of which the brushcutter is suspended from the operator. 1.4.9Hip padstrap or pad, fastened to the brushcutter or to the harness, to provide protection from impacts and ex

42、cessive vibration. 1.4.10Idling speedthe lowest possible stable speed when the carburettor is adjusted to the manufacturers specification. 1.4.11Kickbacka rotational force on the unit in the direction opposite to the cutting device movement which occurs when the cutting device contacts a solid objec

43、t or is pinched. The force may fling the unit away in an uncontrolled arc mainly in the plane of the cutting device. 1.4.12Mufflerdevice for reducing engine exhaust noise and directing the exhaust gases. 1.4.13Regulatory authorityMinister of the Crown, a government department, or other public author
