18、stemsonpublictransportvehicles.PublicTransport(PT)vehicleshaveanincreasingarrayofinformationandcommunicationssystems,includingticketmachines,AutomatedVehicleLocation(AVL)systems,destinationdisplays,passengerannouncementsystems,vehiclemonitoringsystems,etc.Othersystemsarebeginningtobeincludedsuchasad

19、vertisingscreens,touristguides,WiFi“hotspotsandinfotainment.Inaddition,equippedPTvehiclewillusuallyhaveacommunicationsfacilitytoenablevoiceanddatatobeexchangedwiththecontrolcentre,otherPTvehicles,PTinfrastructureandroadsidedevicesforinstanceinrequestingpriorityattrafficsignals.Manytypesofcommunicati

20、onchannelareusedincludingpublicandprivatewirelesscommunicationnetworks.Thesesystemsmaybeprovidedbyanumberofdifferentsuppliersandmayneedtobeintegrated.Forinstance:一aticketmachinemayneedlocationinformationtoupdatefarestages;一next-stopanddestinationinformationmaybedrawnfromscheduleinformationheldinthet

21、icketmachine;一vehiclelocationsystemsmaybeusedtodrivesignalpriorityrequests.Asdataexchangebetweenfunctionalunitsbecomesmorewidespread,anetworkedapproachbeginstobecomeefficient.Withstandardizedunderlyingtechnology,thePTvehiclebeginstolooklikealocalareanetwork:makinguseofIEEE802communicationsandtheInte

22、rnetProtocol(IP)suite.Withoutacleartechnologyframework,integratingthesesystemswouldrequirecomplextechnicaldiscussionseverytimeadeviceisprocured.TheexistingEN13149standardsrecognizedthislongagoinrespectofthecorevehiclesystems,butthesehavenotbeenadaptedtoIPnetworking.SixhistoricalpartsofEN13149,namely

23、Parts1to6,havenowbeenwithdrawninfavourofthenewIPbasedapproach.ThecoreofthisnewapproachwasspecifiedintwoTechnicalSpecifications(TS):一CEN/TS13149-7specifiestheNetworkandSystemArchitectureforonboardequipment.Itdescribesbasicprinciplesofcommunicationsincludingageneraldescriptionofthenetworktopology,addr

24、essesschematics,basicnetworkservices,asystemoverviewandbasicmodulearchitecture.一CEN/TS13149-8specifiesthePhysicalLayerforIP-communicationnetworksonboardPTvehicles.Thispartspecifiesthecables,connectorsandotherequipmentincludingpinassignmentandenvironmentalrequirements.Buildingonthis,aseriesofspecific

25、serviceshavebeendetailed:一CEN/TS13149-9,specifyingthestructuretobeusedbyaserviceprovidingtimedatatotheon-busnetwork;一CEN/TS13149-10,specifyingthestructuretobeusedbyaserviceprovidinglocationdatatotheon-busnetwork,specificallyrelatingtoGlobalNavigationalSatelliteSystems(GNSS);一CEN/TS13149-11,specifyin

29、ntdrawsonarangeofIETFRequestsforComment(RFCs),notallofwhichmaybeformalstandards.AlistofthosecitedispresentedintheBibliography.1 ScopeThispart8specifiesthephysicallayerofanonboarddatatransmissionbusbetweenthedifferentequipmentforserviceoperationsandmonitoringofthefleet.Thisappliestoequipmentinstalled

30、onboardvehiclesthatareoperatingaspartofapublictransportnetwork,i.e.inoperationunderpublicservicecontracts.Thisequipmentincludesoperationaidsystems,automaticpassengerinformationsystems,farecollectionsystems,etc.TheuseofIEEE802.11WirelessLANcommunicationsisexcludedfromthescopeofthisTechnicalSpecificat
