22、betweenvehiclemodules).Thisdocumentdescribesmainrequirementsforthedesignandvalidationofgangwaysystems.Therequirementssetoutinthisdocumentarebasedonlong-termexistingpracticesandproceduresdevelopedandcurrentlyinusebyrailwayundertakingsandindustry.Theapplicationofthesesystemshaschangedovertheyears.Form

23、anyyearsthemajorityofgangwaysystemsconsistedofrubbertubespressedtogetherwhencoacheswerecoupled.ThissolutionwasstandardizedinUICleaflet561:1991withtheaimtoreconfiguretrainsets.InformationaboutthemainrequirementsofthisleaflethasbeenincorporatedinthisdocumentasAnnexA.TheaimofEN16286-1istocoverproject-s

24、pecificsolutions,whichhavebeendevelopedforeachtrainset;forexample,formultipleunits,metrovehiclesortramvehicles.1 ScopeThisdocumentspecifiesthetechnicalandsafetyrequirementsapplicabletogangwaysystemsusedinheavyrailandurbanrailvehiclesthataredesignedtoallowpassengersorstafftomovebetweenadjacentvehicle
